  • A Full-Duplex MAC Protocol Based on Buffer Status Report for Successive Full-Duplex Link Setup
    IEEE Communications Letters, 2019
    Co-Authors: Young Deok Park
    Abstract:

Full-duplex radio is the next-generation wireless technology that can transmit and receive Frames simultaneously over the same channel. Recently, as self-interference cancellation technologies have evolved, full-duplex radio has become possible. In this letter, we propose a new medium access control (MAC) protocol designed for full-duplex radio. In the proposed MAC protocol, the downlink station on a full-duplex link uses an Acknowledgment Frame to report its buffer status information to the access point (AP). Then, the AP can establish a successive full-duplex link to provide a transmission opportunity to the station without contention. Our performance analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed MAC protocol achieves throughput gains compared to existing studies.

  • method and apparatus for transmitting an Acknowledgment Frame in a wireless local area network
    2012
    Co-Authors: 林峰 夏
    Abstract:

Embodiments of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for transmitting an Acknowledgment Frame in a wireless local area network. The method includes the step of generating an Acknowledgment Frame to the transmission Frame, received notification Frame comprises a short Acknowledgment Frame, the short Acknowledgment Frame, STF, include LTF, and SIG, a step, and a step of sending an Acknowledgment Frame. In an embodiment of the present invention, the short Acknowledgment Frame may not include a data unit, as a result, reduces the size of the Acknowledgment Frame, also reduces the overhead of the received notification Frame, mutual Acknowledgment Frame whereby efficiency of operation is improved.

  • a method and apparatus for transmitting the Acknowledgment Frame very high throughput wlan
    2011
    Co-Authors: M M 文廷克
    Abstract:

You can use a very high throughput for the wireless transmission of a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) and selectively enabling a general Acknowledgment (ACK) and the block ACK. ACK type may be specified for at least one bit from a transmitter to a physical layer header of the PPDU transmission receiver, to indicate that at least at least two selected from the general ACK, ACK or Block ACK in a no. It may be transmitted to the receiver in a very high throughput PPDU Frames, wherein the specified value of a bit, the bit may be used to cause the PPDU general ACK or Block ACK in response.

  • a lightweight authentication mechanism for Acknowledgment Frame in ieee 802 15 4
    Journal of KIISE:Information Networking, 2007
    Co-Authors: Choong Seon Hong
    Abstract:

In IEEE 802.15.4 (Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network) specification, a successful reception and validation of a data or MAC command Frame can be confirmed with an Acknowledgment. However, the specification does not support security for Acknowledgment Frame; the lack of a MAC covering Acknowledgments allows an adversary to forge an Acknowledgment for any Frame. This paper proposes an identity authentication mechanism at the link layer for Acknowledgment Frame in IEEE 802.15.4 network. With the proposed mechanism there is only three bits for authentication, which can greatly reduce overhead of device. The encrypted bit stream for identity authentication will be transmitted to device by coordinator within association process. Statistical method and simulation results prove that our mechanism is successful in handling MAC layer attack.

  • AINA Workshops - On Backoff Timer Scheduling for Smart-DCF and Performance Evaluation
22nd International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications - Workshops (aina workshops 2008), 2008
    Co-Authors: S. Siwamogsatham
    Abstract:

In this work, we present a generic backoff-timer scheduling algorithm for the Smart-DCF scheme. In Smart-DCF, the master station schedules the backoff timer value for each client station, and the backoff timer information is sent to the client station via an Acknowledgment Frame. The proposed backoff-timer scheduling mechanism enables the Smart-DCF access point to provide differentiated services to different classes of wireless stations or traffic. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheduling algorithm is effective. The results also show that the Smart-DCF scheme noticeably outperforms the existing DCF scheme. In addition, the throughput performance of Smart-DCF starts to reach the saturated level when each data burst is longer than 5 Frames.
