  • Adenohypophysis Hormone gene products in 14 pituitary adenomas: analysis by immunohistochemistry and northern blotting.
Archives internationales de physiologie de biochimie et de biophysique, 1991
Co-Authors: Marie-louise Scippo, Albert Beckers, Francis Frankenne, Michel Reznik, Achille Stevenaert, Ahmed Igout, Georges Hennen
    Abstract:

AbstractWe investigated 14 pituitary adenomas (10 silent adenomas; 3 prolactinomas and one GH-secreting tumor) for the presence of Hormone gene transcripts (Northern blot) as well as for translation products (immunohistochemistry). The GH-secreting tumor was shown to express the genes coding for GH and PRL and to synthesize the corresponding Hormones. In the cases of prolactinomas, immunohistochemical data demonstrated the synthesis of prolactin only. In addition to the PRL gene, Northern blot analysis revealed the transcription of the α-subunit gene in one case.Hormone genes were found to be expressed in 7 out of the 10 silent tumors, whereas no Hormone synthesis was detected in any of these tissues. LH-β mRNA was found in 3 cases, FSH-β mRNA in 5 cases and α-subunit gene was shown to be expressed in one case. Surprisingly, the level of expression of the FSH-β gene was higher than in normal tissue. This study confirms that some so called « silent » adenomas are expressing α- and/or β-subunit glycoprotein ho...

  • Distribution of ERα and ERβ in the Adenohypophysis of the Lactating Goats
    Progress in Veterinary Medicine, 2011
    Co-Authors: Zhao Hui-ying
    Abstract:

In order to sthdy the distribution characteristics of ERα and ERβ in the Adenohypophysis of the lactating goats, the Adenohypophysis of in early-lactation,peak lactation and later lactation goats were collected and made to slices to observe the localization of ERα and ERβ positive substance respectively by using immunohistochemical SP method. The results showed the ERα and ERβ positive cells mainly locate in eosinophils in the pars distalis of Adenohypophysis.ERα postive cells gradually decrease during lactation period, and mainly locate in cytoplasma in the early lactation and later lactation and in nucleus in peak lactation. The majority of ERβ positive cells scatter in the early lactation and the peak lactation,a few in the later lactation, and the positive products mainly distribute in cytoplasma.Whole-cell are colored in the peak lactation. The result indicated that ERα and ERβ distributed during different chromophil cells in the pars distalis of Adenohypophysis In different lactation periods.ERα and ERβ may play a different role in the Adenohypophysis Hormone secretion during different lactation periods.

  • Clinical study of serum Hormone excreted by Adenohypophysis in cancer
China Journal of Modern Medicine, 2005
    Co-Authors: Liao Qiu-lin
    Abstract:

To study the variety and clinical value of serum Hormone excreted by Adenohypophysis in cancer. The serum levels of prolactin (PRL), growth Hormone (GH), follicle stimulating Hormone (FSH), luteinizing Hormone (LH) and thyroid stimulating Hormone (TSH) were detected with IRMA in 171 cases of patients suffering from cancer and 46 cases of patients with benign diseases. The serum levels of PRL, GH, LH and FSH in cancer patients were remarkable higher than those with benign diseases except TSH. And in patients with metastasis were homology to those with no metastasis. The variety of Adenohypophysis Hormone in differential apparatus cancer had no clinical value. [Conclusions] The result suggest that Adenohypophysis Hormone are high related with cancer, especially PRL, GH, LH, FSH are remarkable higher than those with benign diseases. It's helpful for us to study the change of cancer patient body.
