  • CLUSTER - ConHA: An SOA-based API gateway for consolidating heterogeneous HA clusters
2013 IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing (CLUSTER), 2013
Co-Authors: Mingyu Li, Qian Zhang, Xiaohui Hu, Fanjiang Xu
    Abstract:

Server and cluster consolidating is very common in cloud computing era. However, it is not easy to consolidate heterogeneous high-availability (HA) clusters due to the lack of unified Administrative Tool for managing various kinds of high-availability clusters developed by different vendors. To solve this problem, an SOA-based API gateway, ConHA, is proposed in this paper. ConHA provides unified web service APIs and the functionalities for managing heterogeneous HA cluster. ConHA is designed in a scalable and extensible way. The security issues are also discussed in this paper.

  • A unified API gateway for high availability clusters
Proceedings 2013 International Conference on Mechatronic Sciences Electric Engineering and Computer (MEC), 2013
Co-Authors: Qian Zhang, Mingyu Li, Xiaohui Hu
    Abstract:

High-availability (HA) clusters are widely used to provide high availability services. Recently, many HA cluster solutions and products have been proposed or developed by different organizations. However, each HA cluster system has its own Administrative Tool and application programming interface (API). Besides, vendor lock-in makes customers dependent on the specific vendors' own high availability clusters. Therefore, it is very complicated to simultaneously manage various HA clusters. To solve this problem, a novel SOA-based Unified API Gateway for high-availability Clusters (UAGC) is proposed in this paper. Under UAGC, cluster services are conveniently managed in a unified way, which is independent of platforms or programming languages. Six web service interfaces are implemented in UAGC to cover most cluster functions. A UAGC-based web service (UAGCService) is implemented with WCF. The experimental results show that UAGCService has good performances.

  • Implementing for Sustainability: Promoting Use of a Measurement Feedback System for Innovation and Quality Improvement
Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research, 2016
Co-Authors: Susan Douglas, Suzanne Button, Susan E. Casey
    Abstract:

Measurement feedback systems (MFSs) are increasingly recognized as evidence-based treatments for improving mental health outcomes, in addition to being a useful Administrative Tool for service planning and reporting. Promising research findings have driven practice administrators and policymakers to emphasize the incorporation of outcomes monitoring into electronic health systems. To promote MFS integrity and protect against potentially negative outcomes, it is vital that adoption and implementation be guided by scientifically rigorous yet practical principles. In this point of view, the authors discuss and provide examples of three user-centered and theory-based principles: emphasizing integration with clinical values and workflow, promoting Administrative leadership with the ‘golden thread’ of data-informed decision-making, and facilitating sustainability by encouraging innovation. In our experience, enacting these principles serves to promote sustainable implementation of MFSs in the community while also allowing innovation to occur, which can inform improvements to guide future MFS research.
