    Abstract:

    The essential role of Design Process visualization is to capture and represent Design information as well as the change of Design objects to keep track of reasons behind decision-making activities. The most prominent benefit of BIM, among its wide-spectrum potentials, would be that it made possible to consider simulated building performances such as energy efficiency for critical decision-making criteria even during the early stages of Design project. Advanced Design Process visualization centered around BIM calls for reflecting performance-oriented Design information generated from the various simulation tools from the early stages of building project. This will certainly demand a different approach in terms of Process modeling and representation strategies. This paper introduces a visualization tool addressing these issues. It is on the top of an Open BIM Server to manage evolving IFC data model in a systematic way, integrating quantitative Design data generated from performance evaluation tools. A data model was developed to represent the Design Process composed of evolving versions and alternatives interwoven with decision-making factors. The system, with its timeline-based interactive user interface, will give a better insight into the Design Process and easy access to the reasons behind decision-makings in an intuitive way.

  • Developing an Integrated Evaluation Technology for Energy- and Cost-Efficient Building Design Based on BIM in the Real-time Manner

    Abstract:

    Existing BIM(Building Information Modeling) based energy evaluation tools cannot be utilized enough for the potential performance of BIM because most of them have not provided the integrated model for energy evaluation, assessment of the material, cost of the construction, and so on. This research aims to propose and develop a new application, EcoBIM, to support an integrated evaluation of the energy and cost efficiencies of the Design alternatives within the Design Process. The proposed application functions as a BIM-based evaluation system that calculates energy-savings performance as well as the construction cost of the alternatives at the Design stage. This study mainly focuses on the possibilities of developing the proposed technology. We also suggest an Advanced Design Process using the proposed system, corresponding to changes of national regulations in Korea. This study deduce that EcoBIM can allow architects to make suitable decisions regarding energy- and cost-efficient Designs. The proposed Design Process will allow architects not only to check the eco-friendly performance of Design alternatives but also predict the operation cost in a certain period in the future. EcoBIM can prevent large-scale Design changes required to obtain environmental certification and enable the owner to make an informed decision about the initial investment of construction according to the result of the analysis of the energy requirement at the Design stage.

    ABSTRAK Perkembangan menggambar dan desain dari tahun ke tahun semakin berkembang. Awalnya, proses menggambar secara manual dilakukan pada selembar kertas. Akan tetapi saat ini orang menggunakan perangkat lunak untuk menggambar dan desain. Karena dengan menggunakan software, proses menggambar dan desain akan semakin efisien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bagaimana menggunakan software Creo Parametric 2.0 menggambar ulang mesin CNC 4 axis. Proses yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terbagi dua. Pertama belajar dari buku-buku atau artikel yang relevan bagaimana cara menggunakan perangkat lunak tersebut. Proses yang kedua adalah mengumpulkan data mesin CNC 4 axis menggunakan fitur di Creo Parametric 2.0. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Advanced Design adalah proses yang tepat untuk menggambar ulang mesin CNC 4 axis. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil desain yang cepat, akurat dan mudah digunakan. Selain itu Creo Parametric 2.0 memiliki fitur berbagi data dengan perangkat lunak lainnya. ABSTRACT The development of drawing and Design every year have raising. Early, manually drawing Process do on a piece of paper. Nowadays people using a software to drawing and Design. Because with that software, drawing and Design Process will be more efficient. The purpose of this study is introduced how using Creo Parametric 2.0 to redrawing small CNC 4 axis machine. The Process that used in the study there are two. The first was learning the relevant books or articeles how to used that software. The second was observing the small CNC 4 axis machine data using features in Creo Parametric 2.0. The conclusion of this study show that Advanced Design Process was appropriate to Design small CNC 4 axis machine. That statement refer to Design result with fast, accurate and easy to used. Creo Parametric 2.0 have the features data sharing to another software to share data information.
