enalapril hydrochlorothiazide induced Angioneurotic Edema and acute necrotizing pancreatitis
European Journal of Internal Medicine, 2000Co-Authors: Isabelle Colle, Patrick Peeters, Hendrik Reynaert, Daniel UrbainAbstract:Abstract Enalapril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, and hydrochlorothiazide can cause multiple side effects, but Angioneurotic Edema and pancreatitis are uncommon. We describe a patient who developed a facial Angioneurotic Edema and a lethal necrotizing pancreatitis after ingestion of enalapril/hydrochlorothiazide as treatment for arterial hypertension.

uneventful propofol anesthesia in a patient with coexisting hereditary coproporphyria and hereditary Angioneurotic Edema
Anesthesiology, 2000Co-Authors: Constantine Sarantopoulos, David F Stowe, Nancy C Bratanow, John P KampineAbstract:HEREDITARY coproporphyria (HC) and hereditary Angioneurotic Edema (HANE) are rare diseases with significant perianesthetic morbidity and mortality, 1,2 Their prompt recognition and meticulous perioperative management are essential for an uneventful outcome. The authors describe the anesthetic management of a patient with coexisting HC and HANE who underwent arthroscopic temporomandibular joint surgery twice under general anesthesia.

airway obstruction due to late onset Angioneurotic Edema from angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition
Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia-journal Canadien D Anesthesie, 1999Co-Authors: Ali Mchaourab, Constantine Sarantopoulos, David F StoweAbstract:Purpose Angioneurotic Edema is a well-documented complication of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI). We report a case of acute airway obstruction from a late-onset, probable ACEI-related Angioneurotic Edema and its subsequent management.
