The creative link: Investigating the relationship between social network indices, creative performance and flow in blended Teams

Thirty undergraduate students enrolled in a Media Psychology course were assigned to five groups tasked with designing a new technology-based psychological Application. Team members collaborated over a twelve-week period using two main modalities: face-to-face meeting sessions in the classroom (once a week) and virtual meetings using a groupware tool. Social network indicators of group interaction and presence indices were extracted from communication logs, whereas flow and product creativity were assessed through survey measures. The findings showed that specific social network indices (in particular those measuring decentralization and neighbor interaction) were positively related to flow experience. More broadly, the results indicated that selected social network indicators could offer useful insight into the creative collaboration process. Theoretical and methodological implications of these results are drawn

Application of quality control circle in reducing incidence of extravasation and phlebitis of hyperosmotic drugs
Shanghai Nursing, 2014Co-Authors: Ma JuAbstract:Objective To explore the effect of quality control circle(QCC) activity on reducing the incidence of extravasation and phlebitis of hyperosmotic drugs.Methods In our hospital a total of 3 623 cases who received hyperosmotic drug infusion from January to March 2012 in departments of geratology and neurosurgery were set as controls(before the QCC activity).And 3 772 cases who received hyperosmotic drug infusion from October to December 2012 were enrolled in the observation group(after the QCC activity).The QCC activity as the theme of "reduce the incidence of extravasation and phlebitis" was conducted from April to September2012,Results After the QCC activity,the incidence of extravasation of hyperosmotic drugs decreased from18.41%to 8.85%(P0.05),and the incidence of phlebitis decreased from 6.73%to 3.58%(P0.05).The nurses' recognition of hyperosmotic drugs was significantly improved(P0.05).Meanwhile the QCC activity significantly improved the capability of QCC Application,Team spirit,specialized knowledge,communication,confidence,and responsibility of individual Team members(P0.05).Conclusion The QCC activity can reduce the incidence of extravasation and phlebitis of hyperosmotic drugs.It can also improve the ability of individual Team members.
