genetic variation analysis of xingyi Bantam Chicken
Journal of Anhui Agricultural Sciences, 2010Co-Authors: Zhang FupingAbstract:[Objective]To analyze the breeding effect of Xingyi Bantam Chicken from molecular level and provide basal data for the protection, exploitation and utilization of dwarf Chicken. [Method]A total of 10 microsatellite loci were used to research the genetic diversities of three breeds including Xingyi yellow Chicken (xy),spotted-brown Chicken (xs) and black dwarf Chicken (xb)at 100 days old,50 Chickens every breed. [Result]As many as 68 alleles were deter mined at 10 microsatellite loci among three breeds. There were 5 -10 alleles at every locus (the average number of that was 6.800). The average effective number of alleles was 4.300 2. The expected heterozygosity was at the range from 0. 523 8 to 0. 881 6,and the average was 0. 732 6. The polymorphism information content was 0. 498 1 -0. 865 6 and the average number was 0. 697 3. The coefficients of genetic differentiation ranged from 0. 012 9 to 0. 066 4,with the average of 0. 028 9. The gene flow at each locus was all more than 1,with a mean Nm of 8. 410 9. The Nei's genetic distance among three breeds was between 0. 046 4 and 0. 147 4. The genetic dis-tance between xy and xs breeds was the smallest, and they was comparatively far with xb breed. [Conclusion]There was little genetic differentiation among three breeds and abundant genetic diversities, and thereby more breeding spaces.

Study on the Early Growth and Dressed Characters in Bantam Chicken
Guizhou Agricultural Sciences, 2004Co-Authors: Zhu Yuanchun, Zha Longying, Fu ZhuyinAbstract:The comparative study on the early growth and dressed characters of two strains:Xingyi Bantam and Yellow Bantam was done in this study. The results show as follows:Body weight (BW)and tibia length(TL) in Xingyi Bantam are both lower significantly at 1 and 2 weeks and both higher significantly at 10 and 12 weeks than those in Yellow Bantam (BW,p(0.05);TL,p0.01).TL in Xingyi Bantam and Yellow Bantam is 6.51cm and 5.79cm respectively at 12 weeks. Xingyi Bantam contains higher dressing percentage (p0.05),but its percentage of breast muscle is significantly lower than that of Yellow Bantam (p0.01).The result shows that Yellow Bantam has excellent meat usage character. The feed/weight rate of Xingyi Bantam and Yellow Bantam is 3.34 and 3.71 respectively, this shows Xingyi Bantam is worthy of developing.

Association of LEI-146 and MCW-43 microsatellites with body weights in Bantam, Bantamised White leghorn and White leghorn Chicken
Indian journal of poultry science, 2005Co-Authors: Gaurav Pandya, Satinder Singh, Chaitanya G. Joshi, D. N. Rank, K. Khanna, V.n. Barot, J. V. SolankiAbstract:Microsatellite markers have been studied for their association with growth traits in Chicken. The object of this study was to investigate if the autosomal dwarf (adw) locus which is located in close proximity of LEI-146 and MCW-43 microsatellites, is associated with small body size of Bantam Chicken. The samples were collected from 21 Bantam, 26 White Leghorn and 35 Bantamised White Leghorn birds and microsatellite analysis was carried out by 7% denaturing PAGE. Three and four alleles were found with LEI-146 and MCW-43 markers, respectively. The birds with having 1,1 and 1,3 genotypes for LEI-146 marker, had lowest body weight at all the ages, while birds with genotypes 2,2 and 3,3 were having highest body weight at all the ages. Birds with 1, 3 and 4, 4 genotypes for MCW43 markers were having highest body weight while birds with 1,2 and 2,3 genotypes were having lowest body weight at all the ages. Although the results point towards the association of these microsatellite loci with the body weight, they were statistically non-significant.

The Polymorphism of GHR Gene Intron 2 of Xingyi Bantam Chicken
Guizhou Agricultural Sciences, 2011Co-Authors: Zhang FAbstract:In order to reasonably utilize breed resources of Xingyi Bantam Chicken, the polymorphisms of GHR gene intron 2 HindⅢ site in Xingyi Bantam Chicken were inspected by PCR-RFLP.The results showed that GHR gene intron 2 HindⅢ site in Xingyi Bantam were pleiomorphic. And there were B and C alleles of GHR gene intron 2 in Xingyi Bantam Chicken. There are three genotypes in cocks,BB,CC and BC.But only 2 genotypes were inspected in hens,BB and CC,BC genotype were not checked out.
