    Abstract:

    Objective:To decide the best compatibility proportion of Cimicifugae Rhizoma and Coptidis Rhizoma.Method: Six different compatibility proportions of Cimicifugae Rhizoma and Coptidis Rhizoma were chosen,the quantity of caffeicacid,ferulic acid,isoferulic acid,jatrorrhizine,palmatine and berberine were determined by using HPLC,and compare the curative effect was compared on the Canker Sore of rats which is caused by sodium hydroxide.Result: The grade of quantity of 2∶1 is the highest,and the curative effect is also better than the others.Conclusion: The best compatibility proportion of Cimicifugae Rhizoma and Coptidis Rhizoma is 2∶1.

    Abstract:

    Canker Sore medications are often recommended to patients for relief of pain associated with aphthous ulcers or other minor irritations of the mouth. The anesthetic effect of these medications is achieved by incorporation of local anesthetics, such as benzocaine, into the products' formulations. To determine the duration and intensity of the anesthetic effect of benzocaine-containing products, three topical oral health care medications, Red Cross Canker Sore Medication, Maximum Strength Anbesol and Orajel Mouth Aid, were compared. In this double blind cross-over study, each product was tested on 21 subjects with normal mucosa and gingiva. All three products produced anesthetic effects. Red Cross Canker Sore Medication was shown to have the longest duration and greatest intensity.

    Abstract:

    Background: Recurrent aphthous ulceration or recurrent aphthous stomatitis is one of the most debilitating and painful oral mucosal disease. This disease entity has no specific cause to occur and no proper laboratory procedures are present to elicit the diagnosis. The treatment options are largely palliative and aimed at reducing symptoms thereby improving patient’s oral condition. In the present study the subjects witnessed alleviation of clinical symptoms related to the aphthous ulceration.
