  • compact 0 56 petawatt laser system based on optical parametric chirped pulse amplification in kd p crystals
    Laser Physics Letters, 2007
    Co-Authors: V V Lozhkarev, G I Freidman, V N Ginzburg, E V Katin, E A Khazanov, A V Kirsanov, G A Luchinin, A N Malshakov, M A Martyanov, O Palashov
    Abstract:

560 TW peak power has been achieved experimentally using a Cr:forsterite master oscillator at 1250 nm, a stretcher, three optical parametrical amplifiers based on KD*P crystals providing 38 J energy in the chirped pulse at 910 nm Central Wavelength, and a vacuum compressor providing 43 fs pulse duration. To our knowledge, it is a world-record OPCPA system and one of the five most powerful laser systems currently available.

  • 200 tw 45 fs laser based on optical parametric chirped pulse amplification
    Optics Express, 2006
    Co-Authors: V V Lozhkarev, G I Freidman, V N Ginzburg, E V Katin, E A Khazanov, A V Kirsanov, G A Luchinin, A N Malshakov, M A Martyanov, O Palashov
    Abstract:

200 TW peak power has been achieved experimentally using a Cr:forsterite master oscillator at 1250 nm, a stretcher, three optical parametrical amplifiers based on KD*P (DKDP) crystals providing 14.5 J energy in the chirped pulse at 910 nm Central Wavelength, and a vacuum compressor. The final parametrical amplifier and the compressor are described in detail. Scaling of such architecture to multipetawatt power is discussed.

  • diode pumped kerr lens mode locked yb lyso laser with 61fs pulse duration
    Optics Express, 2014
Co-Authors: Wenlong Tian, Jinwei Zhang, Zhaohua Wang, Yingnan Peng, Lihe Zheng, Jun Xu
    Abstract:

A stable diode pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked (KLM) Yb:LuYSiO5 (Yb:LYSO) laser of generating 61 fs pulses at a Central Wavelength of 1055.4 nm is experimentally demonstrated. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first demonstration of femtosecond KLM operation in Yb:LYSO laser, and it is believed that 61 fs is the shortest pulse duration ever produced from an Yb-doped orthosilicate laser. The average output power of the mode-locked laser is 40 mW and the repetition rate is 113 MHz.

  • mode locked nd3 y3 srf2 laser with 181 fs pulse duration
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2014
Co-Authors: Wenlong Tian, Liangbi Su, Jun Xu
    Abstract:

We demonstrate a mode-locked Nd3+,Y3+:SrF2 laser for the first time. Pumped with 1.5W continuous Ti:sapphire laser, average output power of 280mW was obtained with pulse duration of 181fs at Central Wavelength of 1057 nm.

  • spectral properties and laser performance of ho sc 2 sio 5 crystal at room temperature
    Optics Express, 2013
Co-Authors: Xiaotao Yang, Lihe Zheng, Y Ding, Xuan Li, Jun Xu
    Abstract:

Holmium doped scandium silicate (Ho:SSO) bulk crystal grown by Czochralski technique is reported. The absorption cross section of 4.8 × 10−21 cm2 at pumping Wavelength 1940 nm and emission cross section of 5.56 × 10−21 cm2 at lasing Wavelength 2112 nm were calculated, respectively. Lifetime was measured to be 1.51 ms at 300 K and 0.92 ms at 77 K. Continuous-wave laser was operated by using a diode-pumped Tm:YAP laser as pump source with Central Wavelength of 1940 nm. Output power of 385 mW at 2112 nm was primarily obtained.
