It also deals with the description of the activities done by this professional in the Private health care sectors. A cost-effectiveness structure for a CE department is proposed.

The Infantil Privado Hospital didn't have a Clinical Engineer as part of its staff. After knowing the work developed in 1988, a new Clinical Engineering Departament was created. In the American British Cowdray Hospital the need for a Clinical Engineer is demostrated in 1989 without reaching practical results, nevertheless the creation of a Clinical Engineering Devartament is considered a real
