Many approaches exist that describe the technical migration analysis and the architectural migration. Equally, Cloud cost Models have been investigated. What we aim to investigate here is to link architecture and software utilisation to costing and business Models. We specifically look at software vendors that use the Cloud to provide their solutions to customers. They might face the challenges to migrate an in-house developed and provided product onto a Cloud IaaS or PaaS platform, while also mapping a licensing Model onto a Cloud monetisation Model. We provide here an experience report. This is based on experience with five migration case studies. We discuss the migration process under consideration of cost aspects, covering both income and expenses in the Cloud in relation to the Cloud Delivery Model chosen. We focus on one of the case studies to illustrate the concepts and observations.

Cloud blueprints for integrating and managing Cloud federations

They follow a pull-based, producer-centric trajectory to development where Cloud consumers have to ‘squeeze and bolt' applications onto Cloud APIs. They also introduce a monolithic SaaS/PaaS/IaaS stack where a one-size-fits-all mentality and vendor lock-in prevail. As a consequence consumers cannot mix and match functionality from diverse tiers of the Cloud stack --- horizontally or vertically --- dynamically configuring it to address their needs. This paper presents an approach that overcomes these obstacles by providing an innovative reference architecture, an enhanced Cloud Delivery Model which breaks down the rigidity of the Cloud stack and transforms it into modular and easily combined components, and a complete integration and management environment that offers integration-as-a-service functionality.

Therefore, new methods and tools need to be defined to respond to this challenge. In this paper we propose to integrate Security Risk Management approaches into Business Process Management to effectively treat security issues at the early phases of the Information System construction. We focus on Cloud brokers, emerging actors of the Cloud Delivery Model, who enhance and aggregate existing Cloud services to match them with their Cloud consumers' requirements. Our main goal is to provide them with tools and techniques to increase the global security level of an IS through different risk treatment strategies.

By this Model, the consumers are charged according to the usage without regard to where the services are hosted or how they are delivered. Usually Cloud services are offered as various Delivery Models among which Storage-as-a-Service Cloud is gaining interest in recent time. In this Model, raw (block) storage is offered as a service. Like any other utility services, Cloud negotiates its service levels and guarantees with its consumers by establishing Service Level Agreements (SLAs). SLA is important in any provider-consumer interaction as it defines a formal basis for performance and availability the provider guarantees to deliver. It consists of a set of measurable attributes called SLA parameters which are established by some objectively measurable conditions, termed as Service Level Objectives (SLOs). However, the SLAs provided by the present day state-of-the-art Clouds are relatively biased towards vendors and do not provide any formal method of verifying if the guarantees are complying or not. This paper attempts to identify the SLA parameters for Storage-as-a-Service Cloud Delivery Model and proposes a monitoring framework for compliance checking.
