    Abstract:

    Technological advancements in Cognitive Learning suggest significant changes in methods of teaching and Learning process. A Constrained Cognitive Learning (CCL) model links various forms of Cognitive Learning methods with a restrictive domain. The main objective of this research study is to propose a CCL scheme that integrates Cognitive Learning theories and instructional prescriptions to achieve an effective Learning environment for the basic education system in rural India. It improves both knowledge acquisition and employment in optimized way. Furthermore, our objective is that, the proposed research contributes in promoting the dialogue between professional learners, academic researchers and practitioners that increasingly brings empirical educational and research orientation into the contemporary educational environment across the rural India. Our focus is to plan such a Cognitive Learning environment so that the learner not only acquire knowledge but also improve their Cognitive abilities to apply their knowledge for the employment and extend their knowledge depth to move towards research oriented innovative skills.

    Abstract:

    This paper utilizes social Cognitive Learning theory to guide and explain the development of prototype educational experiences for information systems concepts. The paper applies the major framework of social Cognitive Learning theory, its recognition of the reciprocity and interaction among Cognitive, behavioral, environmental, and physiological/affective influences. In this Learning process, it is argued that people learn from a variety of experiences and from the observation of the actions of others. This paper uses social Cognitive Learning theory to explain the structure for an MIS educational experience, and applies a group support system (GSS) in a course module with specific Learning objectives. Finally, the paper describes an MIS classroom experience (a module coveting systems analysis [SA] methodology) which has been used to apply the GSS to prototype MIS problems (working scenarios with questions and organizational data).

    Abstract:

    This review article discusses the theoretical principles of social Cognitive Learning theory and children's risk-taking behavior of cigarette smoking, along with preventive initiatives. Social Cognitive Learning theorists examine the behavior of initiating and sustained smoking using a social systems approach. The authors discuss the reciprocal determinism aspect of the theory as applied to the importance of individual factors, and environment and behavioral interactions that influence smoking behavior. Included is the concept of vicarious capability that suggests that smoking behavior is determined in response to and interaction with feedback provided by the environment. The principle of self-regulatory capability asserts that people have control over their own behavior and thus that behavior change is possible. The principle of self-efficacy proposes that high level of self-efficacy of an individual may decrease the behavior of attempting to or continuing to smoke. Examples of initiatives to be undertaken in order to prevent smoking in accordance with social Cognitive Learning theory are presented at the end of each principle.

    Abstract The primary purpose of this study was to determine if a relationship exists between sense of community and Cognitive Learning in an online educational environment. Study participants consisted of 314 students enrolled in 26 graduate education and leadership courses taught at a distance using the Blackboard.comSM e-Learning system. Study results provided evidence that a significant relationship exists between classroom community and perceived Cognitive Learning. Online learners who have stronger sense of community and perceive greater Cognitive Learning should feel less isolated and have greater satisfaction with their academic programs, possibly resulting in fewer dropouts.
