Fuzzy overlay analysis model based on Flou sets
Application Research of Computers, 2013Co-Authors: Bi Ling-lingAbstract:The method described the fuzzy regions using Flou sets.Then it proposed an overlay analysis model of fuzzy raster map layers based on Flou sets.The model could complete general fuzzy overlay and weighted fuzzy overlay.The fuzzy overlay model could avoid the difficulty in dealing with the relations between fuzzy spatial objects through using fuzzy sets to represent the fuzzy region,and the fuzzy overlay result accord with the Cognitive Principle of people.The practical case shows that this model can well solve fuzzy overlay analysis between the map layers described as Flou sets.

The simplicity Principle is normatively justified-patterns that support simple representations provide good explanations and predictions on the basis of which the agent can make decisions and actions. Moreover, the simplicity Principle appears to be consistent with empirical data from many psychological domains, including perception, similarity, learning, memory, and reasoning. Thus, the simplicity Principle promises to serve as the starting point for the rational analysis of a wide range of Cognitive processes, in Anderson's (1990, 1991a) sense. The simplicity Principle also provides a framework for integrating a wide range of existing psychological proposals.

Stable throughput and delay performance in Cognitive cooperative systems

The primary users transmit packets in orthogonal subchannels. According to the Cognitive Principle, the secondary activity cannot interfere with the primary performance. Therefore in this study, the secondary user makes use of the spectrum when sensed idle. Based on the proposed media access control (MAC) protocol, the authors derive the stable throughput and delay slots expressions of each primary user with secondary relaying. They also achieve the stable network constraints of relaying probability e, the feasible range of primary arrival rates and the maximum allowed secondary transmitting power which is to make a tradeoff between the stable throughput of the primary and secondary user. Simulation results show that secondary relaying can increase the primary and secondary throughput and also reduce the delay slots when designing an appropriate e.

Culicover, Ray JackendoffAbstract:Same-Except is a fundamental domain-general Cognitive relation in which entities in proximity to one another are judged to be the Same, Except for some part or property where they differ. This relation can be attested in non-linguistic modalities such as vision, audition, and taste, and it plays an important role in non-linguistic categorization. The chapter shows that this relation is expressed linguistically by means of a wide range of devices, including (a) lexical expressions such as same and except, (b) contrastive stress, (c) anaphora (e.g. definite and indefinite NP anaphora and VP anaphora), (d) ellipsis (e.g. bare argument ellipsis, sluicing, gapping, and VP-ellipsis), and (e) fixed expressions such as vice versa. This approach thereby unifies the semantics of all these phenomena under a common account that is based on a domain-general Cognitive Principle. The approach is compared with accounts of ellipsis based on syntactic copying or deletion, showing that both approaches have their difficulties.
