  • large and Constant Coefficient of negative thermal expansion covering a wide temperature range in zn1 xmnxnmn3 0 x 0 3
    Scripta Materialia, 2018
    Co-Authors: J C Lin, P Tong, Wei Tong, Ye Zou, Cuiyun Yang, F Zhu, X K Zhang
    Abstract:

Abstract The substitution of Mn for Zn was found to broaden the abnormal lattice shrinkage in Zn 1− x Mn x NMn 3 . When x  = 0.3, a large Constant Coefficient of negative thermal expansion (NTE) α L is found between 74 K and 150 K, which, though rare, is beneficial to practical applications of NTE materials. The magnetism studies indicate that the ferromagnetic clusters appear in the paramagnetic (PM) region and restrain the transformation from PM to antiferromagnetic (AFM), leading to the broadened NTE window. Moreover, the sample x  = 0.3 shows a linear PM-AFM transformation in the whole NTE window, resulting in the Constant α L .

  • existence results for a linear equation with reflection non Constant Coefficient and periodic boundary conditions
Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2014
    Co-Authors: Alberto Cabada, Adrian F F Tojo
    Abstract:

Abstract This work is devoted to the study of first order linear problems with involution and periodic boundary value conditions. We first prove a correspondence between a large set of such problems with different involutions to later focus our attention to the case of the reflection. We study then different cases for which a Greenʼs function can be obtained explicitly and derive several results in order to obtain information about its sign. Once the sign is known, maximum and anti-maximum principles follow. We end this work with more general existence and uniqueness of solution results.

  • all optical differential equation solver with Constant Coefficient tunable based on a single microring resonator
    Scientific Reports, 2015
Co-Authors: Ting Yang, Aoling Zheng, Liangjun Lu, Linjie Zhou, Xinliang Zhang, Jianji Dong, Jianping Chen
    Abstract:

Photonic integrated circuits for photonic computing open up the possibility for the realization of ultrahigh-speed and ultra wide-band signal processing with compact size and low power consumption. Differential equations model and govern fundamental physical phenomena and engineering systems in virtually any field of science and engineering, such as temperature diffusion processes, physical problems of motion subject to acceleration inputs and frictional forces, and the response of different resistor-capacitor circuits, etc. In this study, we experimentally demonstrate a feasible integrated scheme to solve first-order linear ordinary differential equation with Constant-Coefficient tunable based on a single silicon microring resonator. Besides, we analyze the impact of the chirp and pulse-width of input signals on the computing deviation. This device can be compatible with the electronic technology (typically complementary metal-oxide semiconductor technology), which may motivate the development of integrated photonic circuits for optical computing.
