    Is legume consumption per capita associated with the corona virus Covid-19. This analysis was done to see if there was a correlation to legume consumption and infections by the corona virus Covid-19. The reasons for the study is that legumes have lectins in them, which some consider to be harmful and legumes are high in soluble fiber. When soluble fiber is digested it forms a nutrient butyrate, which can shut down the IFITM system for fighting viral infections. “Short chain fatty acid butyrate promotes virus infection by repressing interferon stimulated genes”[3] The best data available was only available for nations.[1]. The group of nations that was measured was the same group of nations that was used for a study to determine if beer consumption was correlated to corona virus infections.[2] The high legume per capita consumption nations had an infection rate of 5.01 percent on average. The low legume nper capita consumption countries had an infection rate of 1.1 percent on average. Infection rates were directly correlated to per capita consumption of legumes. Can you live without eating legumes for awhile? The amount of deaths from the corona virus Covid-19 was over ten times higher in countries that consumed the most legumes. Italy is a high legume Consuming Country and they have a very high death rate. Even if Italy is removed from the list of high legume per capita Consuming countries, the amount of deaths is still over 4 times higher in the high legume per capita Consuming countries.

    Abstract Energy trade periodically aligns Northern importing – Consuming countries against predominantly Southern producing – exporting countries. Conflict appears to follow a cyclical pattern, whereby Northern firms invest in developing Third World hydrocarbon resources to meet consumer demand until market conditions enable unilateral efforts by host sovereigns to augment fiscal take and ownership share and to impose output restrictions, thereby elevating prices and revenues.     China is the largest rice producing and Consuming Country in the world, accounting for more than 25% of global production and consumption. Rice cultivation is also one of the main sources of anthropogenic methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. The challenge of maintaining food security while reducing greenhouse gas emissions is an important tradeoff issue for both scientists and policy makers. A systematical evaluation of tradeoffs requires attention across spatial scales and over time in order to characterize the complex interactions across agricultural systems components. We couple three well-known models that capture different key agricultural processes in order to improve the tradeoff analysis. These models are the DNDC biogeochemical model of soil denitrification-decomposition processes, the DSSAT crop growth and development model for decision support and agro-technology analysis, and the regional AEZ crop productivity assessment tool based on agro-ecological analysis. The calibration of eco-physiological parameters and model evaluation used the phenology and management records of 1981–2010 at nine agro-meteorological stations spanning the major rice producing regions of China. The eco-physiological parameters were calibrated with the GLUE optimization algorithms of DSSAT and then converted to the counterparts in DNDC. The upscaling of DNDC was carried out within each cropping zone as classified by AEZ. The emissions of CH4 and N2O associated with rice production under different management scenarios were simulated with the DNDC at each site and also each 10 × 10 km grid-cell across each cropping zone. Our results indicate that it is feasible to maintain rice yields while reducing CH4 and N2O emissions through careful management changes. Our simulations indicated that a reduction of fertilizer applications by 5–35% and the introduction of midseason drainage across the nine study sites resulted in reduced CH4 emission by 17–40% and N2O emission by 12–60%, without negative consequences on rice yield.

    China is a major energy-Consuming Country and is under great pressure to improve its energy efficiency as well as reduce its carbon emissions. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), as an energy-efficient transport innovation, have the potential to reduce gasoline consumption, carbon emissions and alleviate environmental problems. Diffusion of HEVs’ adoption is a significant initiative. A sample of 433 respondents has been collected in China to predict the customers’ intention to adopt HEVs, using an extended model of the theory of planned behavior (TPB). The empirical results show that the attitude toward HEVs, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control (the three primary elements of the TPB model) and personal moral norm partially mediate the effect of consumers’ environmental concern on their intention to adopt HEVs. Consumers’ environmental concern affects the adoption intention indirectly and is significantly positively related to the attitude toward HEVs, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and personal moral norm, which in turn influence the adoption intention positively. The results confirm the appropriateness of the TPB model and verify that the extended TPB model has good explanatory power in predicting consumers’ intention to adopt HEVs. Based on the empirical results, we discuss the implications for promoting the adoption of HEVs and provide suggestions for future study.
