  • an svd based watermarking method for image Content Authentication with improved security
International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 2005
Co-Authors: Seungiae Lee, Dalwon Jang, Chang D Yoo
    Abstract:

For image Content Authentication, a secure watermarking method using quantization-based embedding on the largest singular value (SV) is proposed. The block-wise quantization-based embedding can be vulnerable to vector quantization (VQ) attack and attacks associated with histogram analysis. To overcome these security problems, the proposed method places interdependency among image blocks and dithers the quantized value. By adjusting the threshold of the detector, a trade-off between the robustness to JPEG compression and the probability of misdetection can be made. The proposed method can detect a tampered area with high sensitivity. This is confirmed by experimental results and security analysis.

International Journal of Digital Crime and Forensics, 2015
Co-Authors: Hongxia Wang, Fan Zhang, Zhenghui Liu
    Abstract:

Watermark schemes Content-based provide one way to solve the veracity and integrity of speech Content. Some existed Content-based schemes are vulnerable to feature-analysed substitution attack. Aiming to solve the problems, a secure speech Content Authentication algorithm is proposed, on the basic of the undeterminate angle of discrete fractional fourier transform. In the paper, the definition and calculation of discrete fractional fourier transform are given. And the watermark generation method based on discrete fractional fourier transform is analyzed. Frame number and watermark bits are embedded into hybrid domain of scrambled signals. Compared with the existed watermark schemes, the features for watermark generation and embedding are secret, which improves the security of watermark system. Theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm is inaudible, robust to desynchronous attacks and has the excellent ability of tamper detection and tamper location.

  • A novel speech Content Authentication algorithm based on Bessel-Fourier moments
    Digital Signal Processing, 2014
    Co-Authors: Zhenghui Liu, Hongxia Wang
    Abstract:

For audio watermark schemes, the method robust against desynchronization attacks based on synchronization codes faces security challenges. In this paper, a Content-based method robust against insertion and deletion attacks is given, which is aimed to solve the insecurity problem of synchronization codes embedding, and a speech Content Authentication algorithm based on Bessel-Fourier moments is proposed. The definition and fast computation of Bessel-Fourier moments of discrete signal are given, and the attack on synchronization codes embedding method is described. For the scheme proposed, the non-synchronized signals caused by desynchronization attack can be re-synchronized by finding the frame that the watermark generated and extracted are equal. Comparing with the synchronization codes embedding method, the scheme not only is robust against insertion and deletion attacks, but also improves the security of watermark system. Theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation results show that the scheme is effective.

    Co-Authors: Zhenghui Liu, Hongxia Wang
    Abstract:

A speech Content Authentication algorithm based on pseudo-Zernike moments in DCT domain is proposed in this paper, which is aimed at some shortcomings in some existing digital watermark schemes. The definition of coefficients self-correlation degree is given. Then the frequency domain watermark embedding method based on pseudo-Zernike moments in DCT domain is proposed. Watermark bits are generated by coefficients self-correlation degree and embedded by quantizing the pseudo-Zernike moments of DCT domain low-frequency coefficients. Comparing with the existing audio watermark algorithms based on pseudo-Zernike moments, the algorithm increases the watermarking embedding capacity and improves the efficiency greatly. Theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation results show that the proposed speech Content Authentication algorithm is effective.

  • Pseudo-zernike moments-based audio Content Authentication algorithm robust against feature-analysed substitution attack
    Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2012
    Co-Authors: Zhenghui Liu, Hongxia Wang
    Abstract:

Content-based audio Content Authentication algorithms provide a method to solve the veracity and integrity of audio Content. On the basic of pseudo-Zernike moments, an audio Content Authentication algorithm robust against feature-analysed substitution attack is proposed, which is aimed at some insecure issues in the existing Content-based audio Content Authentication schemes. Firstly, the audio signal is cut into non-overlapping frames and each frame is divided into two segments, and each segment is scrambled. Then, synchronization codes generated by pseudo random sequence and watermark bits generated by pseudo-Zernike moments are embedded in the first and second segment, respectively, which are completed by quantizing the modulus of pseudo-Zernike moments. The scrambled segments used to generate and extract watermark are unknown to attackers. So, it is difficult for attackers to get the watermark generated and extracted to perform feature-analysed substitution attack. The synchronization code and watermark embedding method proposed is inaudible and has excellent ability to tolerance against common signal processing operations. Compared with the existing audio watermark algorithms based on pseudo-Zernike moments, the algorithm increases the embedding capacity and improves the security of the watermarking system.

  • Image alignment based perceptual image hash for Content Authentication
    Signal Processing: Image Communication, 2020
Co-Authors: Xiaofeng Wang, Xiaorui Zhou, Qian Zhang, Jianru Xue
    Abstract:

Abstract Perceptual image hash is an emerging technology that is closely related to many applications such as image Content Authentication, image forging detection, image similarity detection, and image retrieval. In this work, we propose an image alignment based perceptual image hash method, and a hash-based image forging detection and tampering localization method. In the proposed method, we introduce an image alignment process to provide a framework for image hash method to tolerate a wide range of geometric distortions. The image hash is generated by utilizing hybrid perceptual features that are extracted from global and local Zernike moments combining with DCT-based statistical features of the image. The proposed method can detect various image forging and compromised image regions. Furthermore, it has broad-spectrum robustness, including tolerating Content-preserving manipulations and geometric distortion-resilient. Compared with state-of-the-art schemes, the proposed method provides satisfactory comprehensive performances in Content-based image forging detection and tampering localization.

  • A Visual Model-Based Perceptual Image Hash for Content Authentication
IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2015
Co-Authors: Xiaofeng Wang, Kemu Pang, Xiaorui Zhou, Yang Zhou, Jianru Xue
    Abstract:

Perceptual image hash has been widely investigated in an attempt to solve the problems of image Content Authentication and Content-based image retrieval. In this paper, we combine statistical analysis methods and visual perception theory to develop a real perceptual image hash method for Content Authentication. To achieve real perceptual robustness and perceptual sensitivity, the proposed method uses Watson’s visual model to extract visually sensitive features that play an important role in the process of humans perceiving image Content. We then generate robust perceptual hash code by combining image-block-based features and key-point-based features. The proposed method achieves a tradeoff between perceptual robustness to tolerate Content-preserving manipulations and a wide range of geometric distortions and perceptual sensitivity to detect malicious tampering. Furthermore, it has the functionality to detect compromised image regions. Compared with state-of-the-art schemes, the proposed method obtains a better comprehensive performance in Content-based image tampering detection and localization.

  • A Novel Image Signature Method for Content Authentication
    The Computer Journal, 2011
Co-Authors: Xiaofeng Wang, Jianru Xue, Nanning Zheng, Zhenli Liu
    Abstract:

We proposed an image signature method for Content Authentication, which applies a hierarchical approach to construct an image signature. In the first level, DWT and DCT are used to extract image features; then these features are encrypted by using sub-keys that are generated by a cryptographically hash function. In the second level, Karhunen–Loeve transformation is used to reduce the signature length. The main features of the proposed method are as follows: (i) It achieves a trade-off between robustness and tampering sensitivity. (ii) It provides a tool for image tampering detection and tampering localization. (iii) It can be used to detect the thumbnail of the large image to improve detection efficiency. (iv) It provides the compact signature, and the signature length is independent of the image size. Experimental results show that proposed method is robust for Content-preserving manipulations such as JPEG compression, adding noise, filtering and Gamma correction, etc.
