When transforming these Techniques into a digital environment, the reduction of organizational overhead is the main goal to foster accessibility. Still, we do not know if overhead reduction fosters Creativity or if it eliminates an important part of the creative process. To get a deeper understanding of these effects, we compare the performance of the Creativity Technique SIS (Systematic Integration of Solution Elements) in a traditional setting with a setup based on multiple interactive surfaces. By using a mix of diverse evaluation methods, we show how the use of a digital interactive Creativity room can really foster Creativity and produce better results.

It is one of the approaches that elicits and analyzes stakeholders’ requirements as goals to be achieved, and develops an AND-OR graph, called a goal graph, as a result of requirements elicitation. However, although it is important to involve stakeholders’ ideas and viewpoints during requirements elicitation, GORA still has a problem that their processes lack the deeper participation of stakeholders. Regarding stakeholders’ participation, Creativity Techniques have also become popular in requirements engineering. They aim to create novel and appropriate requirements by involving stakeholders. One of these Techniques, the KJ-method is a method which organizes and associates novel ideas generated by Brainstorming. In this paper, we present an approach to support stakeholders’ participation during GORA processes by transforming an affinity diagrams of the KJ-method, into a goal graph, including transformation guidelines, and also apply our approach to an example.

teaching thinking using a Creativity Technique for the eradication of truancy among students to enhance the success of universal basic education in nigeria
British Journal of Education Society & Behavioural Science, 2013Co-Authors: R AnimasahunAbstract:Truancy is an antisocial behavior perpetrated by many students in the lower secondary school, and which is specifically rampant in Osun State of Nigeria public schools, which if not properly addressed could abort the laudable objectives of the Universal Basic Education (U.B.E.) in Nigeria. Therefore, this study explored how Lateral Thinking Creativity Technique could be utilized to teach the truants to think right and take rational decisions that would make them jettison truancy for the success of the U.B.E. in Nigeria. A pre-test-post-test quasi experimental group design was adopted. A sample of 100 Junior Secondary School II students playing truancy randomly selected from Ila and Iwo Local Government areas of Osun state were used for the study. Their ages ranged from 10-16 years with a mean of 13 years. Fifty students from Ila formed the experimental while the other fifty from Iwo made the control group. The experimental group was subjected to six weeks of training in Lateral Thinking Creativity Technique for one hour twice a week while the control group was asked to wait a little time for attention. A validated instrument, Animasahun (2008) truancy scale was administered on all the participants in both groups at both the pre and post test situations. The result showed that there was a significant Research Article British Journal of Education, Society & Behavioural Science, 3(4): 560-573, 2013 561 difference in the post-test truancy behavior scores between the experimental and the control groups (F(1,97) = 24.795<0.05). The significant difference in their adjusted mean scores (41.516) and (47.864) also prove that there was a significant difference in the posttest scores of the participants as the experimental group scored significantly lower than the control on truancy scale. It should be noted that the lower the score on truancy scale the better for the person. It was therefore recommended that any student playing truancy should undergo training in Lateral thinking Creativity Technique so as to be able to think rationally and have a change of attitude in order to reduce truancy and consequent dropping out of school.

We have proposed a factor model construction process that uses structural equation modeling and KJ method to construct an objective factor model. KJ method is a Creativity Technique and a bottom-up approach which members of small group think out, refine, and organize ideas. We apply degree centrality to extract factors from a model constructed by KJ method in this process. There are several different centralities such as closeness and betweenness, which may be superior to degree centrality. Therefore, we verified a method for selecting a centrality by determining the changes in a goodness-of-fit-index and the features of a constructed model by three centralities.
