  • real time simulation based closed loop detection for avc system of regional power grid
    Power system technology, 2013
    Co-Authors: Tang Yonghon
    Abstract:

A novel real-time simulation based closed-loop detection method for automatic voltage control(AVC) system of regional power grid is proposed. Based on the proposed method a detection platform for the AVC system, which is composed of real-time simulation system, intermediate Data Conversion interfaces and AVC system, is built. The system model constructed in the real-time simulation system contains system platform model and central control system model, and transformed by intermediate Data Conversion interfaces the AVC system, the analog quantity and switching values of real-time simulation system are transmitted to the AVC system, and through the computation of AVC system the obtained control strategy is transmitted back to real-time simulation system via intermediate Data Conversion interfaces. The proposed closed-loop detection platform provides a solution to the field-testing for AVC system of regional power grid, and the objective of detecting AVC system of regional power grid in labor is realized.

  • delta sigma Data Conversion in wireless transceivers
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2002
    Co-Authors: I Galto
    Abstract:

High-performance analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and fractional-N frequency synthesizers based on delta-sigma (/spl utri//spl Sigma/) modulation - collectively referred to as /spl utri//spl Sigma/ Data converters have contributed significantly to the high level of integration seen in recent commercial wireless handset transceivers. This paper presents a tutorial on /spl utri//spl Sigma/ Data converters and their uses and implications with respect to wireless transceiver architectures.

  • research on the avc testing platform for the regional grid based on real time digital simulator rtds
Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2012
    Co-Authors: Lin Xu, Yang Han
    Abstract:

The automatic voltage control (AVC) relay provides real-time automatic control for the on-load transformer tap changer (OLTC), which is widely used for power system voltage monitoring and control purposes throughout the world. However, there are no uniform testing standards for the AVC system, and the lack of on-site inspection means has stimulated the introduction of the real-time digital simulator (RTDS)-based testing platform. This paper introduces the testing platform of the AVC controller based on the RTDS. The circuit model of the regional power grid is established, and the OLTC and the reactive power compensation devices are also incorporated. The intermediate Data Conversion device is utilized for bi-directional Data exchange of the remote meter and control signals between the RTDS and the AVC system. The principle of the AVC voltage regulation and the RTDS-based AVC testing platform are introduced, followed by the Data flow of the OLTC and capacitor/inductor banks, which formulates the foundation for closed-loop testing of the AVC control system for the electric power system. • ultra high resolution spect system using four pinhole collimators for small animal studies
The Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 1995
Co-Authors: Koichi Ishizu, Sadahiko Nishizawa, Yasuhiro Magata, Marco Pagani, Hiroshi Shibasaki, T. Mukai, Nagara Tamaki, Yoshiharu Yonekura, T Fujita, Junji Konishi
    Abstract:

We describe a newly developed ultra-high resolution SPECT system using four pinhole collimators for small animal studies. Methods : The system utilizes a clinical four-head SPECT scanner with specially designed pinhole collimators. Four types of pinholes with different configurations were designed with different effective aperture sizes (1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mm) and rotating radii (40 mm and 50 mm). The distance from the axis of rotation to the scintillator was fixed to 180 mm. A filtered backprojection algorithm was used to reconstruct SPECT images after fan-beam-to-parallel-beam Data Conversion. Results : The system provided a reconstructed spatial resolution of 1.65 mm (FWHM) and sensitivity of 4.3 kcps/μCi/ml with the best type of pinholes, respectively. The 99 mTc-HMPAO SPECT image in rat studies clearly visualized small brain structures, and the left ventricular myocardium and cardiac cavity were clearly separated with 99m Tc-MIBI. Dynamic SPECT imaging of rat brain with [ 123 I]iomazenil was also feasible. Conclusion : This ultra-high resolution SPECT system can be used to measure the regional distribution of radiolabeled tracers in small animals in vivo and may play a significant role in the development of new radiopharmaceuticals and in studies of various disease models using living animals.

  • tunneling analyst a 3d gis extension for rock mass classification and fault zone analysis in tunneling
    Computers & Geosciences, 2009
Co-Authors: Yosoon Choi, Seo Youn Yoon, Hyeongdong Park
    Abstract:

In this study, an extension called Tunneling Analyst (TA) has been developed in ArcScene 3D GIS software, part of the ArcGIS software package. It dramatically extends the functionalities of ArcScene because it allows: (1) estimation of the 3D distribution of rock mass rating (RMR) values using borehole and geophysical exploration Data, (2) the modeling of 3D discontinuity planes such as faults from field-based structural measurements, and (3) analysis of 3D intersections and 3D buffer zones between proposed tunnel alignments and some discontinuities. Because TA can handle and visualize both 2D and 3D geological Data in a single GIS environment, the tedious tasks required for Data Conversion between various software packages can be reduced significantly. The application to the Daecheong tunneling project in Korea shows that TA could present a rational solution to evaluating the rock mass classes along a proposed tunnel alignment and can also provide specific 3D spatial query tools to support the tunnel design work. This paper describes the concept and details of the development and implementation of TA.
