  • prospective application of Diethylaminoethyl Cellulose deae Cellulose with a high adsorption capacity toward the detoxification of 2 4 dichlorophenoxyacetic acid 2 4 d from water
    RSC Advances, 2021
Co-Authors: Jagadeesh Kodali, Balasubramanian Arunraj, T Sathvika, Santhana Krishna A Kumar, Rajesh Nagarathnam
    Abstract:

Detoxification of pesticide residues requires effective methods. In this regard, the adsorption efficiency of Diethylaminoethyl Cellulose (DEAE-Cellulose) as an adsorbent material for the removal of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) from water at different concentrations, times, pH and temperature was evaluated comprehensively. The obtained results showed that DEAE-Cellulose has greater efficacy to eliminate 2,4-D from water with a high Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of 429.18 mg g−1 at pH 7.0. Kinetic models and thermodynamics were investigated at length. The adsorption mechanism was understood by way of electrostatic, hydrogen bonding, and Lewis acid–base type interactions. Extensive analytical characterization of the DEAE-Cellulose adsorbent before and after 2,4-D adsorption was performed and liquid chromatography with a tandem mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) was used for the quantification of 2,4-D. The regeneration of DEAE-Cellulose was achievable using dilute formic acid and the DEAE-Cellulose adsorbent showed high ability in the removal of 2,4-D from the agriculture run-off water.

  • Elaboration par procédé sol-gel de couches minces de TiO2 nanostructuré- Caractérisations structurale et optique
    2007
    Co-Authors: Ninova Kuznetsova Iva
    Abstract:

This work is devoted to the elaboration and characterization of thin nanometric TiO2 films by sol-gel process. Two approaches in preparation of sols have been realized : without additives abd with additives, that modify the titanium dioxyde precursor. The first approach is realized using titanium isopropoxyde (TTIP) as precursor in alcoholic solution with water and acid. The coresponding films(30-210 nm) are deposited by spin-coating and treated at 350-550 C. They show high transparency in the visible (90%) and refraction index 2 suitable for antireflective application. The second approach is realized using two precursor, TiCl4 and TTIP, in alcoholic solutions with water and acid. Complexing agent 'Diethylaminoethyl Cellulose, polyethylene glycol, oxalic or citric acids), polymers(Diethylaminoethyl Cellulose and polyethylene glycol) and surfactants were used as additives. Thin films of different polymorphs were realized : anatase, rarely observed TiO2(B), preferentially oriented brookite. This work shows an influence of synthesis parameters of sol-gel derived TiO2 thin films on crystalline structure, morphology, and useful properties (optical, electrical).PARIS13-BU Sciences (930792102) / SudocSudocFranceF

  • fractionation of citrus pectin on Diethylaminoethyl Cellulose columns
    Process Biochemistry, 1997
Co-Authors: Sohair A Elnawawi, Abdelmohsen Saber Ismail
    Abstract:

Abstract A sample of high-methoxyl citrus pectin was separated into its major fractions on Diethylaminoethyl-Cellulose columns using increasing concentrations of NaH 2 PO 4 solution as the eluent. The fraction eluted with the lowest concentration of NaH 2 PO 4 had the highest methoxyl content, and latter fractions, obtained with progressively increasing NaH 2 PO 4 concentrations, showed progressively lower methoxyl values. The percentage esterification and equivalent weight also decreased in a similar manner. This decrease in methoxyl content from one fraction to the next was accompanied by an increase in setting times and jelly grades. A small decrease in molecular weight from one fraction to the next towards the low-ester range was observed and none of the fractions had a molecular weight as high as the original pectin.

  • partial purification of a water extractable rye secale cereale protein capable of improving the quality of wheat bread
    Cereal Chemistry, 1998
    Co-Authors: Jan Delcour, I P Van Haesendonck, G Cleemput, D E Rogers, R. C. Hoseney
    Abstract:

ABSTRACT Rye water-soluble extracts contain a protein fraction that, when added at low concentrations to a straight-dough breadmaking recipe, significantly increased bread volume. Enrichment of the active component is possible by anion-exchange fractionation with Diethylaminoethyl-Cellulose (DEAE), by ammonium sulfate precipitation, or by using rye bran or shorts milling fractions as the starting material. The active material was not bound to DEAE-Cellulose. With ammonium sulfate precipitation, the fractions obtained at 30, 40, and 50% saturation were active in straightdough baking experiments. Iso-electric focusing revealed that fractions active in breadmaking invariably contained alkaline protein fractions (pI > 7.5). Inactivation of enzyme material by boiling the water-soluble extract from rye destroyed all breadmaking activity. The activity of the bread improver was additive to that of potassium bromate but not to that of ascorbic acid. It was not counteracted by catalase, showing that it does not wor...

Inactivation of enzyme material by boiling the water-soluble extract from rye destroyed all breadmaking activity. The activity of the bread improver was additive to that of potassium bromate but not to that of ascorbic acid. It was not counteracted by catalase, showing that it does not work by a mechanism involving the production of hydrogen peroxide. The extract was not able to overcome the detrimental effect on bread quality resulting from mixing dough in a nitrogen atmosphere.status: publishe
