real time audio watermarking based on characteristics of pcm in Digital Instrument
J. Inf. Hiding Multim. Signal Process., 2010Co-Authors: Kotaro Yamamoto, Munetoshi IwakiriAbstract:Musical performance with Digital Instruments has become a common prac- tice today, and many Digital Instruments come to be used in Desk Top Music (DTM), live performance, etc. These performances are recorded as Digital contents, and circulated actively through network and electronic media. However, the spread of Digital contents causes a problem of illegal duplication and distribution, so that Digital watermark has recently attracted much attention as a technology to solve this problem. In this paper, we focus on a sound synthesized process in Digital Instruments, and propose a real-time watermark method. Certain watermarks are embedded in wavetables that are included in our Digital Instruments, and the insertion of secret messages is actualized with wavetable switching. Additionally, embedded watermarks can be extracted from the acoustic signal. The proposed method is able to achieve a real-time watermark, i.e., both musical perfor- mance and the insertion of watermark can be actualized.

Digital Instrument with configurable hardware and firmware for multi channel time measures
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2019Co-Authors: N Lusardi, F Garzetti, A GeraciAbstract:: A new Digital Instrument for timing of events is presented. It is based on a reconfigurable, high-performance, 16-channel time-to-Digital converter implemented in a Xilinx 7 Series 28-nm field programmable gate array device. Each channel provides timestamps with a least significant bit of 2 ps that states the resolution, whereas instead the single-shot precision is below 12.5 ps rms with the possibility of multihit measures at the maximum rate of 20 MHz. The default width of the full-scale range is 157 µs that can be extended at users choosing up to 15 days by means of proper time tagging procedures made available. The Instrument achieves performance in terms of precision, resolution, and full-scale range of measurement at the state-of-art of existing solutions. The novelty is that besides performance, the presented Instrument is totally reconfigurable by the user both in the hardware and in the firmware parts. Moreover, novel techniques of event acquisition (e.g., level-zero trigger) are introduced. These further features are not present in any other Instrument available nor in the literature or in commerce and constitute a difference with respect to all referenced Instruments.

IMTC 2001. Proceedings of the 18th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference. Rediscovering Measurement in the Age of Informatics (Ca, 2001Co-Authors: Claudio De Capua, C. Landi, G.c. MalafronteAbstract:The present paper introduces a new Digital Instrument for the measurement of conducted emission in B bandwidth coming from an electrical device. The Digital device has been implemented by standard VXI Instrumentation, in conformity with CISPR Standard Rules for this kind of measurement. It has been tested in comparison with the traditional analogic CISPR Receivers both in laboratory and on-field. The comparison results are satisfactory for the uncertainty level required in electromagnetic compatibility measurement standards.

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1999Co-Authors: G Bucci, C. LandiAbstract:This paper presents a Digital Instrument for the power quality analysis in systems where voltage or current waveforms are nonsinusoidal. It is based on a C40 DSP and on a special high-speed data acquisition system. The analysis is performed by a recursive algorithm which allows the mutable system properties to be tracked on-line. The paper also goes on to discuss the performance of an Instrument prototype, both in terms of accuracy and speed of measurement.

Audio Watermarking Based on PCM Technique
International Journal of Computer Applications, 2010Co-Authors: Ranjeeta Yadav, Sachin Yadav, Jyotsna SinghAbstract:igital Instruments come to be used in Desk Top Music (DTM), live performance, etc. These performances are recorded as Digital contents, and circulated actively through network and electronic media. Digital Water mark technology paid much attention to solve the problem of illegal distribution & duplication when the Digital contents are spread over electronic media. In this paper, we focus on a sound synthesized process in Digital Instruments, and propose a audio watermarking based on wavetable switching method. Certain watermarks are embedded in wavetables that are included in our Digital Instruments, and the insertion of secret messages is actualized with wavetable switching. Additionally, embedded watermarks can be extracted from the acoustic signal. The proposed method is able to achieve a real-time watermark, i.e., both musical performance and the insertion of watermark can be actualized. In this study, we focused on Digital Instrument to solve this problem. Digital Instrument (like electronic piano, electric drum and so on) has been used for musical performances in practice, and Digital Instrument has a characteristic structure in its sound synthesis process. Additionally it was considered that characteristics of the synthesis could be used for real-time watermarking. The purpose of this study is to achieve a real-time watermarking technology with another approach for musical performance with Digital Instruments. In the proposed method, watermarks are embedded in the wavetable of Digital Instruments, and embedded data are extracted from the playback acoustic signal of Digital Instrument. Therefore, watermarks can be embedded in the output acoustic signal that is synthesized from the wavetable in real-time musical performance, and it can be useful for the copyrights protection of real-time generated acoustic media.
