Enantioselective synthesis of planar-chiral 1,n-dioxa[n]paracyclophanes via catalytic asymmetric ortho-lithiation.

Quenching with various electrophiles, such as iodine, iodomethane, and chlorodiphenylphosphine, afforded chiral mono- and disubstituted paracyclophanes with good to excellent ee.
