    Abstract:

    In this paper we propose an approach of image restoration from multispectral data provided by an imaging system. We specifically address two topics: (i) Development of a multi-wavelength Direct Model for non-stationary instrument response that includes a spatial convolution and a spectral integration, (ii) Implementation of multispectral image restoration using a regularized least-square, based on a quadratic criterion and minimized by a gradient algorithm. We test our approach on simulated data of the Mid-InfraRed Instrument IMager (MIRIM) of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Our method shows a clear increase of spatial resolution compare to conventional methods.

    A parameterization for a linear system is presented to design a Direct Model reference adaptive pole placement controller. This parameterized Model is one of the structured nonminimal Models. The exponentially weighted least-squares algorithm is employed to estimate the control parameters. The Direct adaptive controller has the exponential weighting properties by the proposed method of selecting the characteristic polynomials of the sensitivity function filters in connection with the reference Model. >

    Abstract:

    Abstract The paper presents control system design based on a non-linear Model reference adaptive control law (MRAC) used for the vibration suppression of a smart piezoelectric mechanical structure. Numerical simulation of the proposed control system is performed based on the finite element (FE) Model of the structure, modally reduced in order to meet the requirements of the control system design. First the MRAC problem is defined and a Direct control algorithm described in the paper is suggested as a solution to the control problem. The basic MRAC algorithm is modified by augmenting the integral term of the control law in order to provide the robustness of the control system with respect to the stability. This approach provides preserving the boundness of the system states and adaptive gains, with small trackings error over large ranges of non-ideal conditions and uncertainties. The efficiency of the suggested control for the vibration suppression is tested and shown through a numerical simulation of the funnel-shaped piezoelectric structure.
