    Abstract:

    In an open environment populated by large numbers of heterogeneous information services, integration is a major challenge. In such a setting, the efficient coupling between Directory-based service discovery and service composition engines is crucial. In this paper we present a Directory service that offers specific functionality in order to enable efficient service integration. The Directory implementation relies on a compact numerical encoding of service parameters and on a multidimensional index structure. It supports isolated service integration sessions providing a consistent view of the Directory Data. During a session a client may issue multiple queries to the Directory and retrieve the results incrementally. In order to optimize the interaction of the Directory with different service composition algorithms, the Directory supports custom ranking functions that are dynamically installed with the aid of mobile code. The ranking functions are written in Java, but the Directory service imposes severe restrictions on the programming model in order to protect itself against malicious or erroneous code (e.g., denial-of-service attacks). With the aid of user-defined ranking functions, application-specific ordering heuristics can be deployed directly. Experiments on randomly generated problems show that they significantly reduce the number of query results that have to be transmitted to the client by up to 5 times.

    A Dissertation submitted to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for the MSc in Computer Science ; Partly readable CD-ROM available in Technical Services DivisionAbstract Microsoft Active Directory is very popular in large and medium scale organizations as a system for centralized management of users, desktops, servers, printers and mail boxes etc. This provides a centralized console for managing and viewing the objects very easily. The Active Directory Data repository could be used to generate many management reports that would be useful for taking future management decisions and analyzing the health of the organization's security. Many events are generated as a result of user activities and status changes of the objects. These events are reflected on the active directories and event logs. The correlation and outlier analysis of the events is important to filter out thousands of non critical events and be pro-active on important critical events./ This thesis discusses generating management reports, by querying the Active Directory Database and providing real time alerts to system administrators on critical events, with the use of Data mining techniques such as event correlation and outlier analysis./ The scope of the event analysis is limited to Data generated in the Microsoft Active Directory.     Ada perbedaan antara sistem operasi Windows Server dan sistem operasi Windows biasa untuk desktop (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, dan sebagainya). Tentu ada hal yang khusus diciptakan pada sistem operasi dengan kernel server. Tujuan utamanya adalah menyediakan sistem operasi untuk dedicated server yang membutuhkan kestabilan tinggi untuk beroperasi secara terus menerus: 24 jam sehari, 7 hari seminggu, 52 minggu setahun.Sistem Operasi Windows Server telah berevolusi dari Windows 3.1 for Workgroup di tahun 1992, kemudian Windows NT Server pada tahun 1995, Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, dan yang terbaru Windows Server 2016. Tidak hanya kestabilan operasi yang dimiliki oleh Windows Server, tetapi juga fitur-fitur tipikal server yang berguna untuk mengelola jaringan komputer. Salah satu yang terpenting adalah Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) yang dapat menyimpan Directory Data dan mengelola komunikasi antara users dan domains, termasuk proses user login, otentikasi, dan pencarian Directory.
