    Abstract:

    This study aims at presenting the Ripple effect in supply chains. It develops different dimensions of the Ripple effect and summarises recent developments in the field of supply chain (SC) Disruption Management from a multi-disciplinary perspective. It structures and classifies existing research streams and applications areas of different quantitative methods to the Ripple effect analysis as well as identifying gaps in current research and delineating future research avenues. The analysis shows that different frameworks already exist implicitly for tackling the Ripple effect in the SC dynamics, control and Disruption Management domain. However, quantitative analysis tools are still rarely applied in praxis. We conclude that the Ripple effect can be the phenomenon that is able to consolidate research in SC Disruption Management and recovery similar to the bullwhip effect regarding demand and lead time fluctuations. This may build the agenda for future research on SC dynamics, control, continuity and Disruption Management, making supply chains more robust, adaptable and profitable.

  • A Study of Urgency Vehicle Routing Disruption Management Problem

    Abstract:

    If a transit vehicle breaks down on a schedule trip, there are some vehicles in the system need to serve this trip and the former plan must be changed. For solving the urgency vehicle routing problem with Disruption that may be vehicle breakdowns or traffic accidents in the logistics distribution system, through the analysis of the problem and the Disruption measurement, the mathematics model is given based on the thought of Disruption Management. For the characteristics of the problem, a Lagrangian relaxation is given to simplify the model, and decompose the problem into two parts. The Lagrangian multiplier is given by subgradient method and the subproblems are solved by saving approach to gain the initial solution. A fast insertion algorithm is given to obtain a feasible solution for the primal problem. The results show that the algorithm designed in this paper performs very well for solving the urgency vehicle routing Disruption Management problem.

    Abstract:

    To tackle the Disruption that is caused by the requests of the customers in the logistics,the Disruption recovery strategies and solution are given based on the theory of Disruption Management.The transformation method for the Disruption recovery of the vehicle routing problem is proposed on the basis of single depots,and the Disruption recovery strategies and the methods of deviation measurement are given,which is the basis of the Disruption Management modeling for the vehicle routing problem.For the Disruption Management of vehicle routing problem with the request changes of customers,the Disruption is illustrated,the Disruption Management model is constructed,and the normalization processing for the model is given,making the model compatible with VRPTW.On the basis of the characteristic of model,the chromosome code based on customer is ameliorated,which can indicate the Disruption recovery strategies;according to the Disruption Management,the genetic algorithm is designed.A representative result and the analysis are given in this paper,and the experiment indicates the validity of the model and algorithm.

    Abstract:

    With the development of logistics, a well-designed distribution plan plays an important role in the distribution process. In order to improve the economic benefit of enterprise and customer satisfaction, this paper introduces the consumer value into Disruption Management for vehicle routing problem (VRP). Based on the consumer value that computed through expert evaluation and cloud model, the cloud model was adopted to classify the target consumers into three levels. Then, a consumer value-based VRP Disruption Management was established, which measures the deviations from the perspectives of consumer, distribution centre and driver. After that, the tree-seed algorithm (TSA) was improved by the immune algorithm (IA) to solve the established model, and proved valid through simulation. The research findings shed new light on the routing of distribution vehicles in the event of Disruptions.
