    Abstract:

    Digital watermarking is a promising technology to embed copyright information as unperceivable signals in digital contents. Although various watermarking techniques have been employed extensively for protecting rights of multimedia digital contents over the Internet, their applications in the Management of enterprise Documents have not been studied comprehensively. In this paper, we present a novel watermark-based Document distribution protocol, which complements conventional access control techniques, to address a common problem in large enterprises, where Document Management policies are not properly reinforced. For instance, sensitive Documents are often left behind in common areas, printing rooms or public folders in an enterprise. The reinforcement of Document Management policies requires a concrete support of nonrepudiation in the Document distribution protocol. The protocol is adapted from our previous works on watermarking protocols, which defend unethical distribution of digital contents over the Internet. Our protocol makes use of registration certificates to distribute the identity information of the content-end users. We also present an implementation outline summarizing our access policy model, Document check-in and check-out mechanism, and watermarking scheme employed.

    Abstract:

    The article is devoted to the development of a mathematical model for information processing in electronic Document Management systems. The model is used to formalize the structure of Documents and their life cycle, and to optimize the processing, the interaction and the flow of Documents, taking into account the factors of adaptation EDMS to the structure of user activity when working with Documents and allowing carrying out set-theoretic analysis of information processing methods and their implementation in algorithmic support and software. Within this article the model of multilevel information processing graphs, used to formalize information flows in the workflow system, is also presented for the first time. The conducted researches can be applied for the description of the processes of work with Documents and problem formulation of optimization of Document movement flows and processing at various levels of scaling.

    Abstract:

    Personal multimedia Document Management benefits from Semantic Web technologies. However, an ontology-based Document Management system has to meet a number of challenges regarding flexibility, soundness, and controllability of the semantic data model. This paper presents an integrated approach for ontology-based multimedia Document Management, which covers the process of automated modeling of semantic descriptions for multimedia objects and allows for the domain-specific customization of the used ontology. Furthermore, the proposed approach addresses the problems of data validation and consolidation to ensure semantic descriptions of proper quality. We demonstrate the practicability of our concept by a prototypical implementation of a service platform for personal information Management applications.

    Abstract:

    Automated modeling of appropriate and valid Document descriptions is a central issue for the benefit and success of an ontologybased personal Document Management system. One of the more practical problems is the deduction of knowledge from partly large but varying, ambiguous, or domain specific information sources (metadata, attributes, features, etc.). The generation process, which requires transformation and reasoning techniques, primarily depends on the application context and should be customized accordingly. Furthermore, automatically generated and deduced information needs appropriate cleaning and consolidation to maintain a certain level of data quality. Therefore, this paper presents a stepwise knowledge modeling approach based on consecutive stages and separated, configurable rule sets. Following the principle of divide-and-conquer, the suggested approach separately addresses the problems of general translation of diverse information sources, syntax check, normalization, and duplication and conflict handling.
