  • Analytische Differenzierung zwischen natrlich gewachsenen, fermentativ erzeugten und synthetischen (naturidentischen) Aromastoffen@@@Analytical differentiation between naturally grown, fermentatively produced and synthetic (nature-identical) aroma co
European Food Research and Technology, 1992
Co-Authors: Robert Braunsdorf, Uwe Hener, Armin Mosandl
    Abstract:

Co-Authors: Robert Braunsdorf, Uwe Hener, Armin Mosandl
    Abstract:

With regard to the analytical differentiation between naturally grown fermentatively produced and synthetic (nature-identical) arome compounds by GC-C-IRMS, simple and practicable methods without any isotope fractionation are essential for efficient enrichment of minor flavour compounds from citrus oils. Octanal, nonanal, decanal, Dodecanal, neral and geranial from different orange oils and commercially available products, labelled “natural” or “nature-identical” have been investigated. The^13C/^12C ratios were evaluated in a narrow range of variation and allowed the differentiation of synthetic nonanal, decanal and Dodecanal from their natural analogues. • High Pressure Solid-Liquid Equilibrium of Fatty Alcohols Binary Systems from 1-Dodecanol, 1-Tetradecanol, 1-Hexadecanol, and 1-Octadecanol
Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data, 2015
Co-Authors: Natalia Dorighello Carareto, Antonio J. A. Meirelles, Mariana Costa,, Jérôme Pauly
    Abstract:

The melting temperatures of four fatty alcohols, 1-dodecanol, 1-tetradecanol, 1-hexadecanol, and 1-octadecanol, were measured at atmospheric pressure using a μDSC calorimeter and at higher pressures (up to 80 MPa) thanks to a dedicated microscope. The solid-liquid phase diagrams of six binary mixtures formed by these fatty alcohols, namely, 1-dodecanol + 1-tetradecanol, 1-dodecanol + 1-hexadecanol, 1-dodecanol + 1-octadecanol, 1-tetradecanol + 1-hexadecanol, 1-tetradecanol + 1-octadecanol, and 1-hexadecanol + 1-octadecanol systems, were also measured using high pressure microscopy within the range of 0.1 MPa to 80 MPa. In addition, the phase diagrams of the 1-dodecanol + 1-tetradecanol, 1-tetradecanol + 1-hexadecanol, and 1-hexadecanol + 1-octadecanol systems were also measured by DSC in order to compare the results obtained from the microscopy. On the basis of the experimental data, it could be concluded that the behavior of the phase diagrams is slightly affected by the pressure, even within very large pressure ranges such as the ones studied in this work

  • Roots volatiles and fatty acids of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) grown in saline medium
    Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, 2009
    Co-Authors: Manel Neffati, Brahim Marzouk
    Abstract:

An hydroponic culture was conducted to investigate the effect of saline stress on the essential oil and fatty acid composition of Tunisian coriander ( Coriandrum sativum L.) roots. Ten days old coriander seedlings were treated during 3 weeks with different NaCl concentrations (0, 25, 50 and 75 mM). Roots volatile components and fatty acids were analyzed. The essential oil yield was 0.06% in the control, on the basis of dry matter weight, and did not changed at low concentration (25 mM), while it increased significantly with increasing NaCl concentrations to reach 0.12 and 0.21% at 50 and 75 mM NaCl, respectively. The major volatile component was ( E )-2-dodecenal with 52% of total essential oil constituents, followed by decanal, Dodecanal, ( E )-2-tridecenal and ( E )-2-dodecenal. Further, the amount of these compounds was affected differently by the NaCl level. Total fatty acid amount of coriander roots increased significantly only with 50 and 75 mM NaCl. Three major fatty acids: linoleic (43%), oleic (25.5%) and palmitic (21.6%) were identified. Linoleic acid amount remains unchanged at 25 mM, while it increased with raising NaCl concentrations. However, oleic acid amount decreased only at 25 mM and no effect was observed at 50 and 75 mM. Fatty acid percentages were differently affected by salt. The oleic/linoleic ratio was reduced with raising NaCl concentrations.

  • changes in essential oil and fatty acid composition in coriander coriandrum sativum l leaves under saline conditions
    Industrial Crops and Products, 2008
    Co-Authors: Manel Neffati, Brahim Marzouk
    Abstract:

Abstract The influence of salinity on essential oil and fatty acid composition of Tunisian coriander ( Coriandrum sativum L.) leaves grown in hydroponic culture was investigated. Volatile constituents and fatty acid of leaves were analyzed. The essential oil yield increased significantly up to 18 and 43% with 25 and 50 mM NaCl, respectively and decreased significantly under high salinity. The major volatile compound in leaves was ( E )-2-decenal with 52% of total essential oil constituents, followed by decanal, Dodecanal, ( E )-2-tridecenal and ( E )-2-dodecenal. Further, the content of these compounds was affected differently by the treatment level. Salinity decreased significantly the total fatty acid content of the upper and basal leaves. α-Linolenic (C18:3n3) was the main compound of both organs, followed by linoleic (C18:2n6), heptadecenoic (C17:1n7) and palmitic (C16:0) acids. Raising NaCl concentrations lead to an important decrease in the unsaturated to saturated fatty acid ratio stimulating the formation of more rigid membrane.
