  • 25 000 dwt multi purpose Dry Cargo Ship form optimization and energy saving device research
    Journal of Sssri, 2008
    Co-Authors: Hu Ping
    Abstract:

The model experiments of a 25000 dwt full type multi-purpose Cargo Ship form optimization and energy saving device are introduced. The optimization design of the Ship lines and bulbous bows are carried out in the towing tank of SSSRI.The experiment results of Ship model resistance,self-propulsion and wake survey are given. The effects of Ship form variations on powering performance are analyzed, also the effectiveness of fitted flow straightening nozzle and rudder ball is introduced. The Ship is excellent, which has advanced index of powering performance, and is a economic efficient Ship. The real Ship is under construction now.

  • direct strength analysis of 3600 dwt Dry Cargo Ship based on design wave approach
    Ship & Ocean Engineering, 2013
    Co-Authors: Liu Haijia
    Abstract:

To evaluate the deformation, yield strength and buckling of the 3 600 DWT Dry Cargo Ship, the direct calculation of hydrodynamic loadings was carried out to get the long-term prediction of the dominant load parameters in each load case, find out the parameters of the equivalent design waves, then predict the wave-induced hydrodynamic loads and Ship motion of the global Ship. Based on the wave loading and inertia loads, the structural strength and stiffness of the global hull were direct assessed by FEM for two goal Ships, one has just single hatch and another has a bulkhead in the mid-Ship. The calculation results showed that single hatch can't meet the buckling criterion,so a scheme to enhance the buckling strength was given.
