fatal left internal mammary artery graft to subclavian vein fistula complicating Dual Chamber Pacemaker implantation
Europace, 2008Co-Authors: Ignacio Garciabolao, Alfonso Macias, Jose Moreno, Ana MartinAbstract:We describe the case of a 75-year-old woman with an iatrogenic fistula between a left internal mammary artery graft to the left anterior descending coronary artery and the left subclavian vein that developed after implantation of a Dual-Chamber Pacemaker.

acute occlusion of left internal mammary artery graft during Dual Chamber Pacemaker implantation
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2000Co-Authors: Tony M Chou, Manhong Jim, Angela Boncutter, Gary MilechmanAbstract:A patient who had undergone bypass surgery 5 yr earlier, including left internal mammary artery (LIMA) grafting to the left anterior descending artery, underwent transvenous Dual-Chamber permanent Pacemaker implantation for persistent advanced atrioventricular block. Intraoperative LIMA graft obstruction occurred, resulting in anterior myocardial infarction that was treated successfully by primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting. This is the first report of the occurrence of this complication during Pacemaker implantation.

implantation of a Dual Chamber Pacemaker in a patient with persistent left superior vena cava
International Journal of Cardiology, 1992Co-Authors: David H Roberts, Christopher M Bellamy, David R RamsdaleAbstract:A patient underwent Dual Chamber Pacemaker implantation by puncture of the left subclavian vein. During the procedure we observed persistence of the left superior vena cava. An active fixation atrial lead was required to prevent instability induced by the odd course of the electrode and produced excellent long term pacing and sensing.
