  • A Dynamic Traffic Assignment Method Based on Connected Transportation System
    IEEE Access, 2019
Co-Authors: Li Zhang, Bin Yu, Gang Chen
    Abstract:

This paper proposed a Dynamic Traffic assignment method based on the connected transportation system to express the time-varied Traffic flows caused by uncertain Traffic demand and supply in the real Traffic network accurately. In Dynamic Traffic assignment, because of the cumulative volumes of successive time intervals, a route-based Traffic assignment algorithm is used for Dynamic Traffic assignment in this paper. Besides, a novel shortest path algorithm based actual and artificial link is proposed for the time-expanded network that consists of two kinds of arcs: the actual arc and the artificial one. Then, a simple example is used to illustrate the performance of the proposed method. The computational results show that the novel shortest path algorithm based actual and artificial link could be applied in the time-expanded networks with two types of arcs, and the route-based assignment method could achieve optimal balance solutions under different demand modes.

  • Real-Time Dynamic Traffic Information for Urban Navigation Electronic Map
Recent Advances in Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2012
Co-Authors: Zhao Sheng Zhang, Dian Ge Yang, Ting Li, Xiao Min Lian
    Abstract:

Data transmission method and communication protocol of the Dynamic Traffic information are described in this paper. Dynamic Traffic information model and Dynamic Traffic database are established, then the query and refresh of road condition and display of the Traffic information in embedded navigation system are realized. Experiments show that the display and refreshment of Dynamic Traffic information in digital map can meet the requirement of embedded Dynamic navigation system.

  • Fusion of Dynamic Traffic Information and Embedded GIS
    Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Co-Authors: Dian Ge Yang, Zhao Sheng Zhang, Ting Li, Xiao Min Lian
    Abstract:

Dynamic Traffic information is an important data for Intelligent Transportation System(ITS). Fusion of Dynamic Traffic information and embedded GIS is a basis for Dynamic path planning and Dynamic navigation. The approach proposed in this paper designed a model of Dynamic Traffic information and a hierarchical sub-model of road condition, and established algorithms for fusion with road network. Experiments with embedded GIS show that the models and integration algorithms are validated and effective. We believe the newly developed approach will be of great potential in ITS and future applications of Dynamic Traffic information.

  • In-vehicle navigation system based on Dynamic Traffic information
The 2nd International Conference on Information Science and Engineering, 2010
Co-Authors: Dian Ge Yang, Zhao Sheng Zhang, Ting Li, Xiao Min Lian
    Abstract:

This paper proposed a spider-web punctual road network model and a Dynamic Traffic information model suitable for use in the in-vehicle navigation system. Based on these models, the Dynamic Traffic information can integrate with the embedded GIS efficiently. The in-vehicle navigation system designed in this paper can realize the display and query of Dynamic Traffic information in real-time, and the optimal Dynamic routing according to Dynamic Traffic information can avoid Traffic jams automatically. The application experiments showed the feasibility and effectiveness of the road network model and the Dynamic Traffic information model.

  • ITSC - Microscopic Dynamic Traffic management: Simulation of two typical situations
2011 14th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2011
Co-Authors: Winnie Daamen, Bart Van Arem, Ivo Bouma
    Abstract:

This paper presents an evaluation of two typical situations of Microscopic Dynamic Traffic Management. Where Dynamic Traffic Management aims to more efficiently use existing road capacity by generic measures, Microscopic Dynamic Traffic Management anticipates suboptimal use of the available infrastructure by disturbing behavior of one or a few drivers. Using simulation, anticipation of slow predecessors in the same lane and anticipation of slow merging vehicles from an on-ramp are assessed on throughput, average travel time loss and Traffic flow stability. The simulation results show positive effects, mainly on Traffic flow stability, but also on throughput and travel time in the case of anticipating slow merging vehicles.

  • GLOBAL DESIGN AND INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS : Dynamic Traffic MONITORING SYSTEM
    1992
Co-Authors: Bart Van Arem, Mark Dougherty
    Abstract:

This document is the second deliverable of the GERDIEN (General European Road Data Information Exchange Network) project. GERDIEN is a demonstration project implementing a communication network in accordance with the IRTE concept. One of the applications of the GERDIEN system is a Dynamic Traffic Monitoring (DTMO) system. This document describes the global design and the information requirements of the DTMO System in the GERDIEN infrastructure. The DTMO System will allow for retrieval of measured data as well as derived quantities such as estimates and predictions. The global information requirements of the DTMO system are given. The information requirements are also considered in light of the the practicality of Dynamic Traffic Management in The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
