    Abstract:

This paper presents a survey study of how social innovation moderates social and economic value from the perspective of shared value creation. Specifically, the study addresses the following questions: Does economic value lead to social value creation in shared value creation? Does social innovation moderate social and economic value in the creation of shared value? The questions are addressed through an empirical investigation of 250 social enterprise organizations that apply social objectives and a market-based approach to attain social and economic goals in Ghana. The study used SmartPLS software version 3.0 to evaluate the data collected. The results indicated that economic value influences the creation of social value in shared value creation. Study results also revealed that social innovation is a driver of shared value creation via social value in the Educational Sector of Ghana. However, social innovation could not play a moderating role in economic value to shared value creation.

    International Journal of Research, 2018
    Co-Authors: E. Saidulu, I. Raviteja
    Abstract:

Data-driven decision support systems, such as data warehouses can serve the requirement of extraction of information from more than one subject area. Data warehouses standardize the data across the organization so as to have a single view of information. Data warehouses can provide the information required by the decision makers. Developing a data warehouse for Educational institute is the less focused area since Educational institutes are non-profit and service oriented organizations. In present day scenario where education has been privatized and cut throat competition is prevailing, institutes needs to be more organized and need to take better decisions. Institute’s enrollments are increasing as a result of increase in the number of branches and intake. Now a day, any reputed Institute’s enrollments count in to thousands. In view of these factors the challenges for the management are meeting the diverse needs of students and facing increased complexity in academic processes. The complexity of these challenges requires continual improvements in operational strategies based on accurate, timely and consistent information. The cost of building a data warehouse is expensive for any Educational institution as it requires data warehouse tools for building data warehouse and extracting data using data mining tools from data warehouse. The present study provides an option to build data warehouse and extract useful information using data warehousing and data mining open source tools. In this paper we have explored the need of data warehouse / business intelligence for an Educational institute, the operational data of an Educational institution has been used for experimentation. The study may help decision makers of Educational institutes across the globe for better decisions.

  • The Role of Development Oriented Non-Governmental Organizations in Creating Shared Value in the Educational Sector of Ghana: The Mediating Role of Basic Needs
VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations, 2019
Co-Authors: Mohammed Abubakari Sadick, Abdul-aziz Ibn Musah, Alhassan Abdul-rasheed Alolo Akeji, Hira Salah Ud Din Khan
    Abstract:

This paper employed a structural equation modeling technique to investigate how Development Oriented Non-Governmental Organizations (DONGOs) could complement government efforts through the concept of shared value creation in the Educational Sector of Ghana. To address this objective, we analyzed whether DONGOs could create shared value by pursuing both social and economic objectives and also how the growing basic needs of education could influence these relationships. The study concluded that basic needs fully mediate social value to shared value and partially mediate economic value to shared value. Moreover, the study revealed that economic value to shared value creation is statistically significant and also demonstrated a positive and significant relationship between social value and shared value. The results further indicate that basic needs have a positive and significant relationship with shared value.
