  • A Magneto-Electric Dipole for Unidirectional UWB Communications
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2013
    Co-Authors: Lei Ge
    Abstract:

A new magneto-Electric Dipole antenna is designed. The antenna is composed of a horizontal bowtie Electric Dipole, a center-fed loop antenna functioning as a magnetic Dipole and a rectangular cavity. A microstrip-to-stripline transition is employed as a balun to feed the antenna. A prototype was fabricated and measured. Results show that an impedance bandwidth of 110%, with SWR ≤ 2 from 3.08 to 10.6 GHz, was achieved. A stable gain of 8.7 ±1.9 dBi was realized by using the rectangular cavity. Stable radiation pattern with low cross polarization ( ≤ -20 dB), low back radiation ( ≤ -13 dB) and symmetrical E- and H-plane patterns was found over the operating frequencies. Moreover, the impulse response is analyzed which reveals the antenna with good time domain characteristic.

  • A UWB magneto-Electric Dipole antenna
2012 IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
    Co-Authors: Lei Ge
    Abstract:

A UWB magneto-Electric Dipole antenna is presented. The antenna is composed of a horizontal bowtie Electric Dipole, a vertically-oriented folded shorted patch antenna, a microstrip-to-stripline transition, and a rectangular cavity. Simulated results reveal that the antenna can achieve an impedance bandwidth of 110% (SWR≤2), stable unidirectional radiation pattern with low cross polarization, low back radiation, nearly identical E- and H-plane patterns and stable gain over the operating frequencies.

  • A Wideband Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
    Co-Authors: Lei Ge
    Abstract:

A new wideband magneto-Electric Dipole antenna composed of a horizontal bowtie Electric Dipole and a vertically oriented folded shorted patch antenna is designed. The antenna is excited by a stair-shaped probe feed without the need of an additional balun. A prototype was fabricated and measured. Results show that an impedance bandwidth of 95.2%, with ${\rm SWR}\leq 2$ from 1.65 GHz to 4.65 GHz, was achieved. Stable radiation pattern with low cross polarization, low back radiation, nearly identical E- and H-plane patterns and an antenna gain of 7.9 $\pm$ 0.9 dBi was found over the operating frequencies.

  • higgs higgsino gaugino induced two loop Electric Dipole moments
    Physical Review D, 2008
Co-Authors: Yingchuan Li, Stefano Profumo, M J Ramseymusolf
    Abstract:

We compute the complete set of Higgs-mediated chargino-neutralino two-loop contributions to the Electric Dipole moments of the electron and neutron in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We study the dependence of these contributions on the parameters that govern CP-violation in the MSSM gauge-gaugino-Higgs-Higgsino sector. We find that contributions mediated by the exchange of WH± and ZA0 pairs, where H± and A0 are the charged and CP-odd Higgs scalars, respectively, are comparable to or dominate over those mediated by the exchange of neutral gauge bosons and CP-even Higgs scalars. We also emphasize that the result of this complete set of diagrams is essential for the full quantitative study of a number of phenomenological issues, such as Electric Dipole moment searches and their implications for electroweak baryogenesis.

  • An effective field theory for the neutron Electric Dipole moment
    Nuclear Physics, 1992
Co-Authors: Darwin Chang, Thomas W. Kephart, Wai-yee Keung, Tzu Chiang Yuan
    Abstract:

We derive a CP-odd effective field theory involving the field strengths of the gluon and the photon and their duals as a result of integrating out a heavy quark which carries both the chromo-Electric Dipole moment and Electric Dipole moment. The coefficients of the induced gluonic, photonic, and mixed gluon-photon operators with dimension ⩽8 are determined. Implications of some of these operators on the neutron Electric Dipole moment are also discussed.

  • The Electric Dipole moment of W-boson
    Nuclear Physics, 1991
    Co-Authors: Darwin Chang, Wai-yee Keung
    Abstract:

Abstract Theoretical predictions of the Electric Dipole moment Dw of the W gauge boson are estimated for various models of CP-violation. It is shown that, for the supersymmetric model and the Weinberg-Higgs model, Dw can be of the order of 10−20 e cm, which is close to the upper bound derived indirectly from the neutron Electric Dipole moment. We also obtain smaller Dw-values of about 10−22 e cm and less than 10−38 e cm, predicted by the left-right model and the Kobayashi-Maskawa (KM) model, respectively.

  • Recent developments in neutron Electric Dipole moment and related CP violating quantities
    1990
    Co-Authors: Darwin Chang
    Abstract:

We summarize recent theoretical developments in CP violation related to the neutron Electric Dipole moment, chromo-Electric Dipole moments for quarks, chromo-Electric Dipole moment for gluon, and Electric Dipole moments for electron and W boson. 31 refs.

  • The neutron Electric Dipole moment and the Weinberg mechanism
    1990
    Co-Authors: Darwin Chang
    Abstract:

We gave an overview of various mechanism for CP violation paying special attention to their prediction of the neutron Electric Dipole moment. The implication of the recent developments associated with the color Electric Dipole moment of gluon in various models of CP-violation are then critically assessed. 25 refs.

  • Calculation of Nucleon Electric Dipole Moments Induced by Quark Chromo-Electric Dipole Moments
Proceedings of 34th annual International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory — PoS(LATTICE2016), 2017
Co-Authors: Hiroshi Ohki, Taku Izubuchi, Michael Abramczyk, Thomas Blum, Sergey Syritsyn
    Abstract:

We present initial results of computing nucleon Electric Dipole moment induced by quark chromo- EDM, CP-violating quark-gluon coupling. Using chirally-symmetric domain wall and Mobius fermions with pion mass m\pi = 172 MeV, we calculate the connected part of the Electric Dipole form factor F_3(Q^2). In addition, we perform an exploratory study of the method to calculate EDM using uniform background Electric field on a lattice introduced without breaking the periodicity in the time direction.
