These reminders are purely time specific i.e. this will give notification only on at that particular time. Many times it is not confirmed that we will be present at the specific location for the work for which we have set the reminder. Instead it is beneficial if the notification or alarm triggers when we are actually present near or at that specific location. To remind modern people of something at a specific time and location, Smart Location Reminder is a boon. To serve the purpose, implementing an application for Android-based smartphones and tablets which is not only time based but also location based. The system uses free, public API service from Google Maps. Timely reminder reduces chances of missing the location of interest & task to be reminded can be performed on desired time and at desired location. Also Ease of search is achieved by finding nearby places of interest.

Design and Simulation of Microcontroller Based Electronic Calendar Using Multisim Circuit Design Software
2020Co-Authors: Chukwunazo Ezeofor J #1, Eric C OkaforAbstract:Abstract-This paper presents the design and simulation of Microcontroller based Electronic Calendar using Circuit design suite-MULTISIM. Paper Calendar has been in existence and is used manually to keep date of each week of the month every year. The emergence of Electronic Calendar has taken precedence over the paper type. Every Electronic device is now integrated with the Electronic Calendar to enable the user to keep time and date anywhere at any time. This report would enable user to understand the foundational design of the Electronic Calendar through simulation. The system design was achieved by dividing it into five modules namely power supply, 8051 control system, select and set, day and date, digital clock display. Digit numbers that represent time, date, month, and year were written in assembly language and tested. The simulated system displays accurate time of the day, day of the week, its date, month and year. 8051 Microcontroller controls every unit and the result is shown to the user through seven segments display

Reminders based on the Electronic Calendar in cell phones are popular, but such reminders are mostly triggered by time. It is also common that some tasks are only meaningful to be performed at a specific location, so it would be useful if reminders for those tasks can be triggered only when the person to be reminded is physically near or located at that location. Therefore, in this research we implement a location-based personal task management application for Android-based smart phones and tablets. To distinguish our work from existing ones that rely solely on the GPS technology, we take advantage of the ubiquity of IEEE 802.11 WLAN (Wi-Fi) infrastructure to compliment the blind spots of GPS location sensing. Combining the two technologies make it possible for the personal task management application to be effective in both indoor and outdoor environments. Furthermore, as long as the WLAN infrastructure is available, this application can be further extended to be used in many other scenarios which comprise both indoor and outdoor environments, such as guiding in public transportation systems or tourist attractions.

This includes visual impairment, which is the focus of this paper. Considering the interaction capabilities offered by mobile devices, especially smartphones, we asked ourselves this question: what kinds of interaction make it easier for visually impaired people to use mobile apps? To answer this question, we first researched into these persons' smartphone usage habits. Then we developed a prototype for an Electronic Calendar that provides interaction via voice commands, keyboard and touch. An Electronic Calendar is a very useful tool especially in business, since it can be used for managing people, resources and events, having a positive impact on productivity. This prototype was analyzed with potential users and we collected their initial impressions about the benefits of using various forms of interaction. The lessons learned with this work are presented and categorized using some of the best-known usability heuristics.
