To implement proposed ontology-based approach the set of ontologies (ontologies of Learning course domain, Electronic Learning resources, learner's profile and personal collections) integrated via meta-ontology was elaborated as well as the semantic rules and algorithms for retrieval and integration of distributed Learning resources into personal collections. Developed method and algorithms were implemented in form of application for creating the personal Learning collections. Suggested approach was applied for creation of personal collections for the course "Programming Languages. C++" in Volgograd State Technical University.

It presents a compilation of contributions to a combined special interest group (SIG) meeting (2006) of Instructional Design and Learning and Instruction with Computers. Both SIGs are part of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI). The SIG-meeting focused on the design of powerful Electronic Learning environments for complex Learning. The articles in this issue describe how to design support to help learners during complex individual or collaborative Learning. This introduction provides the context for the issue and a short overview of the contributions.

Research on Electronic Learning portfolio in China: Status and trends
2010 International Conference on Educational and Information Technology, 2010Co-Authors: Mingmei YuAbstract:Focusing on domestic research status, this paper investigated into academic articles that published in the past eight years in Mainland China and tried to find out the growing trends of research on Electronic Learning portfolio. It is found that scholars from more than ten fields are showing increasing interest and experts from these two domains have issued the most papers: software and application of computer, educational theory and management. The number of Master thesis on Electronic Learning portfolio, which to some extent represents systematic researches, is also rising up recent years. However, problems are also discovered: many of the domestic researches tended to adopt pure qualitative research method, which occupied 67% of the sample articles in this paper. Therefore, more quantitative researches are wanted to study the Electronic Learning portfolio thoroughly.
