integrated smart system for Energy Audit methodology and application
Energy Procedia, 2017Co-Authors: Lorenzo Belussi, Ludovico Danza, Francesco Salamone, Italo Meroni, Stefano Galli, Sandra Dei SvaldiAbstract:Abstract The article describes the design and the application stage of a smart Energy Audit system, integrated within building, and the methodologies adopted for the detection of malfunctions of the plant. The system is set up as a "black box" consisting of a hardware aimed at logging both Energy and environmental parameters and a software for the assessment of building behavior and the management of Energy flows. The Energy Signature was chosen as the reference method for the evaluation of the Energy performance of building. The system was tested in an existing public office building.

Energy Audit and potential Energy saving in an office building in riyadh saudi arabia
Journal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2009Co-Authors: Saleh A AlajlanAbstract:Abstract Energy Audit is used in this paper as an efficient method/tool to assess and study the Energy profile of a large office building in Riyadh City. The various components of the building are analyzed, such as specifications of the walls, the roofs, the windows, the lighting fixtures, the office equipments, the chillers, HVAC, the additional air conditioning units known as split types and the other equipments in the building. It has been found that air conditioning system represents 50% of the total installed power. The Energy Audit study has helped to diagnose and then define certain solutions and modifications for increasing Energy efficiency in the building. The potential Energy saving and the pay-back period of the proposed modifications are also calculated and analyzed for different solutions. After the implementation of the proposed modifications, the pay-back period is estimated to be 29 months. Recommendations are suggested according to the optimum solution.

Energy Audit of an industrial site a case study
Energy Procedia, 2014Co-Authors: Matteo Dongellini, Cosimo Marinosci, Gian Luca MoriniAbstract:Abstract In order to reduce Energy consumptions for sustainable and Energy-efficient manufacturing, continuous Energy Audit and process tracking of industrial machines are essential. Compared to other non-residential buildings that have been widely researched, industrial buildings are generally characterized by larger thermal loads, ventilation losses and pollution control requirements. This paper presents the results of a preliminary Energy Audit carried out on 8 large industrial buildings of a famous car manufacturing holding in Italy. Energy demand for heating varied from 6 to just over 74 kWh/m3year among the buildings of the site. The Energy Audit enabled to build a specific factory Energy model which has been used in order to analyze the impact of various Energy saving actions on the primary Energy consumptions of the site. It has been demonstrated that in this specific case the improvement of the building envelopes and the optimization of the performances of the existing HVAC systems can determine a reduction of gas consumption up to 15% per year with a predicted annual economic saving of the order of 100000 €; the total simple pay-back time of the proposed thermal retrofitting is evaluated to be less than 6 years

residential house electrical Energy Audit case study with etap
2016Co-Authors: Keerthi K Jain, Kishore N Kumar, S Muralikrishanan, L. RameshAbstract:The economic development of a country is often closely linked to its consumption of Energy. Although India ranks sixth in the world so far as total Energy consumption is concerned, it still needs much more Energy to keep pace with its development objectives. The power demand in India will be increased by 80 % by the year 2012–2040 and the expected demand in year 2017 would be nearly 300 GW. The government has taken new steps for the development of renewable Energy sources and less consideration in conservation of electrical Energy in the society. According to the current scenario of the increase in the demand, this work executed to conduct Energy Audit in a residential house with suitable recommendation through ETAP. The single line diagram of the house with and without recommendation is simulated in ETAP with necessary data collected from the house. There are three recommendations suggested in this paper to the consumer for implementation to reduce the tariff to 50 %.

Electrical Energy Audit in Residential House
Procedia Technology, 2015Co-Authors: Awanish Kumar, Shashi Ranjan, M. Bharath Kumar Singh, Priyanka Kumari, L. RameshAbstract:Abstract Electrical Energy plays a vital role in our day to day life. Anythingcannot be imagined without electricity. As there is a limited amount of resources that can be help us to generate electricity, so this is our keen duty to save these resources or save electricity for our further use and this is only possible by doingan Energy Audit to a different sector. Our vision is saving electrical Energy by conducting an Intelligent Electrical Energy Audit under an initiative forum “MGR vision 10MW”. The first initiative is started and presented in the paper about Auditing a residential house, and presented the suitable recommendation with the help of ETAP software package.
