HICSS - Challenges Facing Enterprise Architects: A South African Perspective
2010 43rd Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2010Co-Authors: Cheng-hui Chuang, Johan Van LoggerenbergAbstract:The relationship between Enterprise Architecture and its service delivery process in an organizational context suggests an interesting view on the role of the Enterprise Architect. Literature reveals that many of the challenges that Enterprise Architects encounter, are largely non-technical in nature. This points to the need for a non-technical perspective on the role of an Enterprise Architect in the overall Enterprise Architecting process but also in the social, organizational context. Interviews were conducted with Enterprise Architects in South Africa to understand the challenges currently facing them. This study explores the fundamental understanding of the role of the Enterprise Architect particularly in the South African organizational context which is characterized by complex cultural and other differences. It suggests that for any Enterprise Architect - but particularly in South Africa - should strongly consider the non-technical perspectives in order to effectively Architect the Enterprise.

Sistema Web para el Control de Historias clínicas en la DIRESA Callao, 2018
'Universidad Cesar Vallejo', 2018Co-Authors: Siguas Silva, Valeria IvonneAbstract:El presente proyecto de investigación comprende la implementación de un sistema web para el control de historias clínicas en la DIRESA CALLAO. El objetivo principal del proyecto es determinar de qué manera influye un sistema web en el control de historias clínicas en la DIRESA CALLAO, el cual comprende de la medición de tres indicadores: Tasa de Pacientes Atendidos, Porcentaje de Historias Clínicas No Suministradas e Índice de Calidad de Registro. Para el desarrollo del proyecto, se empleó la metodología RUP ya que ofrece un modelo detallado de análisis y diseño, utilizando UML para el modelado del negocio y del sistema con la ayuda de la herramienta Enterprise Architect. Para el desarrollo y construcción del software se utilizó el lenguaje de programación PHP, junto con el motor de base de datos MySQL. Con la implementación del sistema web se obtuvo un aumento en la tasa de paciente atendidos de 0.16, se disminuyó el porcentaje de historias clínicas no suministradas a cero y se incrementó considerablemente el índice de calidad de registro en 43%

Consequently, a wide variety of approaches exists for the early phases of requirements engineering, modeling various concepts as stakeholders, goals, features, product lines, systems, processes, risks, and requirements. The purpose of Unified Requirements Modeling Language (URML TM) is to combine these concepts in a single modeling language. In addition, it strengthens support for danger modeling. URML is implemented as an add-in to the Enterprise Architect CASE tool. This tool demo will showcase the URML implementation.
