  • experimental study on the flotation of 0 25 mm waste printed circuit boards particle
    Environmental Pollution & Control, 2011
    Co-Authors: Duan Chenlong
    Abstract:

The enrichment of useful metal from waste printed circuit boards was an advanced topic in the research domain of Environment Pollution and control. The flotation of micro-sized waste printed circuit board particle was performed to investigate the effect of stirring rate, aeration rate, slurry concentration and slurry temperature on metal recovery.Design-Expert7.0 experiment software was employed to design the flotation experiment and analyze the results. The residual error distribution diagram of metal recovery and the quantitative relationship between influence factors and metal recovery rate was obtained. The operating condition was optimized by Design-Expert7.0,and the maximum recovery rate of 96.89%was achieved under the optimum condition.

  • compressed stabilized earth block as a sustainable building material
    Civil and environmental research, 2018
Co-Authors: Md Akhter Hossain Sarker, Ishtiak Mahmud
    Abstract:

In recent years Environment Pollution is the most concerned issue. Awareness growing to save the Environment. In Bangladesh, burnt clay brick is the most commonly used building material. Which produce a significant amount of greenhouse gasses and also it destroys a huge amount of agricultural land every year. Concerning the issue of scientist searching for sustainable and eco-friendly building material. Compressed Stabilized Earth Block (CSEB) give the opportunity of energy efficient, eco-friendly, agriculture friendly and sustainable development. It does not produce any harmful gasses during production. In this study, river dredged soil used to produce CSEB, so it also helps to save the agricultural land. CSEB have been prepared with the different composition of cement, sand and river dredged soil. The compressive strength of different blocks is measured to find the suitable composition to produce CSEB and also to compare among them to find out the optimum composition. Keywords : Sustainability, Agriculture friendly, Environment friendly, River dredged soil.

  • space resolved analysis of trace elements in fresh vegetables using ultraviolet nanosecond laser induced breakdown spectroscopy
Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 2008
Co-Authors: Vincent Juve, Richard Portelli, Myriam Boueri, Matthieu Baudelet
    Abstract:

article i nfo Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been applied to analyze trace elements contained in fresh vegetables. A quadrupled Nd:YAG laser is used in the experiments for ablation. Analyzed samples come from local markets and represent frequently consumed vegetables. For a typical root vegetable, such as potato, spectral analysis of the plasma emission reveals more than 400 lines emitted by 27 elements and 2 molecules, C2 and CN. Among these species, one can find trace as well as ultra-trace elements. A space- resolved analysis of several trace elements with strong emissions is then applied to typical root, stem and fruit vegetables. The results from this study demonstrate the potential of an interesting tool for botanical and agricultural studies as well for food quality/safety and Environment Pollution assessment and control.

  • quantitative description on structure property relationships of li ion battery materials for high throughput computations
Science and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2017
Co-Authors: Youwei Wang, Wenqing Zhang, Lidong Chen, Siqi Shi, Jianjun Liu
    Abstract:

AbstractLi-ion batteries are a key technology for addressing the global challenge of clean renewable energy and Environment Pollution. Their contemporary applications, for portable electronic devices, electric vehicles, and large-scale power grids, stimulate the development of high-performance battery materials with high energy density, high power, good safety, and long lifetime. High-throughput calculations provide a practical strategy to discover new battery materials and optimize currently known material performances. Most cathode materials screened by the previous high-throughput calculations cannot meet the requirement of practical applications because only capacity, voltage and volume change of bulk were considered. It is important to include more structure–property relationships, such as point defects, surface and interface, doping and metal-mixture and nanosize effects, in high-throughput calculations. In this review, we established quantitative description of structure–property relationships in L...
