Entre logique privée et logique collective : mieux cerner l’utilisation de l’information environnementale par le consommateur
Discrete Mathematics, 2016Co-Authors: Agnes Francois Lecompte, Laurent BertrandiasAbstract:To date, the most successful Environmental Labels mix implicitly private benefits and collective benefits. The efficiency of Labeling formats that only gives an evaluation of the Environmental impact is uncertain. This article focuses on how consumers evaluate a multi-indicator Environmental Label. The research is based on 434 faceto-face consumer interviews about the development of an Environmental Labeling system for restaurants. The findings confirm that consumers attach much more importance to Environmental indicators that can be associated with private rather than purely collective benefits. Several implications for Environmental Labeling development emerge from these results

analyzing the behavior of consumers of ecologically correct products the case of rice products certified with irga s Environmental Label
Electronic Journal of Management Education and Environmental Technology (REGET), 2014Co-Authors: Graciela Rodrigues Trindade, Ana Júlia Teixeira Senna, Alexandra Boligon, Ricardo Ribeiro AlvesAbstract:Lifestyles, consumption and industrial production have, over the years, been supported by the indiscriminate use of Environmental resources, harming the ecosystems and jeopardizing Environmental quality. The need to minimize these impacts gave rise to clean production systems, consisting in production processes geared towards preserving raw materials and energy, eliminating toxic wastes and polluting emissions and, with regard to products, the idea is to reduce their negative impacts along their life cycle. The rice production chain was one of the pioneers in the certification of eco-friendly rice products, in the production of energy from rice husk, and in the use of cleaner technologies. However, what was not known was the level of information of the consumers regarding these practices and the development of products certified with the Environmental seal. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to characterize the behavior of the consumers who have opted for ecologically correct products in the municipality of de Sao Gabriel (RS). One hundred and fifty-five consumers were interviewed, in five supermarkets in the town of Sao Gabriel (RS). The area planted to rice in this municipality reaches approximately 29,000 hectares (IBGE, 2009) and one rural holding certified with IRGA’s Environmental Seal in the 2009/10 crop year. The findings of this survey will be a good help for defining the type of packaging for the rice certified with IRGA’s Environmental seal, for selecting the retail outlets responsible for distributing the product, for the communication strategies to be used and for defining the markets that are to absorb the certified final product.

Evaluation of Notebook and Desktop Personal Computer through the EcoLeaf Type III Environmental Label
2005 4th International Symposium on Environmentally Conscious Design and Inverse Manufacturing, 2005Co-Authors: K. Fuse, S. OikawaAbstract:EcoLeaf is a Japanese version of Type III Environmental Labeling program launched in June 2002 promoted by the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry. Fujitsu joined EcoLeaf program from its trial stage and became Japan's first personal computer (PC) manufacture to receive EcoLeaf Environmental Label certification. So far, Fujitsu has acquired thirty one Labels for PCs and two for magneto-optic disc drives as of Aug 2005. In this study, notebook and desktop PC, which EcoLeaf Type III Labels are certified, are analyzed and the potentials for effective Environmental loads reduction are discussed
