  • automatic acquisition of chinese tibetan multi word Equivalent Pair from bilingual corpora
International Conference on Asian Language Processing, 2011
Co-Authors: Minghua Nuo, Huidan Liu, Zhiming Ding
    Abstract:

This paper aims to construct Chinese-Tibetan multi-word Equivalent Pair dictionary for Chinese-Tibetan computer-aided translation system. Since Tibetan is a morphologically rich language, we propose two-phase framework to automatically extract multi-word Equivalent Pairs. First, extract Chinese Multi-word Units (MWUs). In this phase, we propose CBEM model to partition a Chinese sentence into MWUs using two measures of collocation and binding degree. Second, get Tibetan translations of the extracted Chinese MWUs. In the second phase, we propose TSIM model to focus on extracting 1-to-n bilingual MWUs. Preliminary experimental results show that the mixed method combining CBEM model with TSIM model is effective.

  • Collocation Based Chinese-Tibetan Multi-Word Equivalent Pair Extraction
Journal of Chinese information processing, 2012
    Co-Authors: Ding Zhiming
    Abstract:

This paper aims to construct Chinese-Tibetan multi-word equivalence dictionary for machine-aided translation system. It proposes CMWEPM model which can extract multi-word equivalences in two phases.First,CMWEPM defines the boundary of Chinese multi-word units by collocation and binding degree. Then it extracts strict and constrained multi-word equivalences based on word alignments, respectively.CMWEPM model classifies multi-word units according to its lengths and frequency, and set different thresholds for different types. This strategy can improve the translation quality with higher recall of multi-word Equivalent Pairs that play a significant role in Chinese-Tibetan machine-aided translation system.

  • Reference potential approach to the energy eigenvalue problem of a rotating diatomic molecule
    Chemical Physics Letters, 2008
    Co-Authors: M. Selg, Vladislav Belous
    Abstract:

Abstract A two-stage analytical–numerical method is described, which enables to accurately solve the energy eigenvalue problem of a rotating oscillator. First, using a simple analytic algorithm, one constructs reliable Morse approximants to all rotational–vibrational states of the given effective potential. Thereafter, the Schrodinger equation is transformed into an Equivalent Pair of coupled first-order differential equations (Gordon equations), which are solved numerically. Integration step h = 0.05  A is sufficient to ensure at least 6-digit accuracy for all energy levels of the examined model potential for H2 molecule.
