  • Towards the Fairest Teacher Evaluation Model
World Journal of Educational Research, 2019
    Co-Authors: Srinivasa Rao Idapalapati
    Abstract:

This study examines the fairness and reliability of the current teacher Evaluation Models as they are reflected in the existent literature of Evaluation methods. The required data for the study are gathered from online sources. Twenty-five scholarly works on the current Evaluation methods are considered for the study after a careful examination of about hundred relevant works. A qualitative analysis of the data gathered is done in light of cognitive bias theory in order to find out the major strengths and drawbacks in the Models. The strengths and the drawbacks in the existent Models are codified separately in the order of their occurrence in the chosen articles and brought all of them under two criteria of strengths and three criteria of drawbacks. The final set of strengths and drawbacks were analyzed quantitatively to draw inferences that are used in making recommendations for creating fairer, reliable and efficient teacher Evaluation Models.

  • Supply relationship Evaluation:: The relationship assessment process (RAP) and beyond
    European Management Journal, 2008
Co-Authors: Thomas Johnsen, Rhona Johnsen, Richard C. Lamming
    Abstract:

In this article we argue that the common purchasing and supply management practice of evaluating supplier performance may be inappropriate in situations of supply partnerships, as it focuses on evaluating the performance of the supplier rather than the supply relationship. We explore a conceptual framework for supply relationship Evaluation, discussing lessons from past attempts to develop relationship Evaluation Models, focusing particularly on the so-called Relationship Assessment Process (RAP) model (Lamming et al., 1996). The article critically evaluates the RAP model, discussing experiences of implementation from 1995 onwards. Building on the reflections on RAP, we propose a new conceptual framework for supply relationship Evaluation. This is constructed on the basis of a synthesis of literatures grounded predominantly in industrial marketing and purchasing (IMP), and purchasing and supply management (PSM) research, and thus adopts a network rather than a dyadic perspective on relationship Evaluation. We conclude by discussing the implications of the proposed framework.

  • Decision support for fuzzy comprehensive Evaluation of urban development
    Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999
Co-Authors: Shan Feng, Li D. Xu
    Abstract:

Urban development often impacts the economic development pattern and the spacial distribution of resource allocation of a particular area. Urban development can be conceptualized as a multicriteria decision-making problem; therefore, multicriteria Evaluation has been used to trace the trend of urban development. In this paper, a fuzzy multicriteria Evaluation model is developed to study the trend of urban development. First, a multilayer Evaluation index system is presented; it is used to conduct horizontal analysis on urban systems. Second, a fuzzy, multicriteria, multilayer Evaluation model is proposed. Third, the detailed modeling aspects are discussed which include the fuzzy Evaluation Models under different Evaluation rules, the methods used to determine the weights of criteria, and the determination of the membership grades of Evaluation matrix. The model has been implemented and the application results indicate that the proposed model is able to represent those important factors affecting urban development layer-by-layer and stage-by-stage.

  • Models for Teacher Evaluation
    Teacher Evaluation, 1995
    Co-Authors: Anthony J. Shinkfield, Daniel L. Stufflebeam
