Evasion Technique and Detection of Malicious Botnet
Communications, 2010Co-Authors: Dae Il Jang, Kang-yu Cho, Hyun-chul Jung, Minsoo Kim, Bong-nam NohAbstract:Malicious botnet is the greatest threat of the internet security. Malicious botnet sent to very large number of malicious spam message a day and them using DDoS attack should not be used the internet service. For defend the threat, many researcher studied how to detect malicious botnet, but malicious botnet evade detection method through evolution. In this paper, we analyze how to evade detection method. Analysis of Evasion Technique expected to contribute to malicious botnet detection study.

anti Evasion Technique for the botnets detection based on the passive dns monitoring and active dns probing
Computer Networks and Isdn Systems, 2016Co-Authors: Oksana Pomorova, Sergii Lysenko, Oleg Savenko, Andrii Kryshchuk, Kira BobrovnikovaAbstract:A new DNS-based anti-Evasion Technique for botnets detection in the corporate area networks is proposed. Combining of the passive DNS monitoring and active DNS probing have made it possible to construct effective BotGRABBER detection system for botnets, which uses such Evasion Techniques as cycling of IP mapping, “domain flux”, “fast flux”, DNS-tunneling. BotGRABBER system is based on a cluster analysis of the features obtained from the payload of DNS-messages and uses active probing analysis. Usage of the developed method makes it possible to detect infected hosts by bots of the botnets with high efficiency.

DNS-based anti-Evasion Technique for botnets detection
2015 IEEE 8th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications (IDAACS), 2015Co-Authors: Sergii Lysenko, Oksana Pomorova, Oleg Savenko, Andrii Kryshchuk, Kira BobrovnikovaAbstract:A new DNS-based anti-Evasion Technique for botnets detection is proposed. It is based on a cluster analysis of the features obtained from the payload of DNS-messages. The method uses a semi-supervised fuzzy c-means clustering. Usage of the developed method makes it possible to detect botnets that use the DNS-based Evasion Techniques with high efficiency.
