  • entity relationship software development environment
Technology of Object-Oriented Languages and Systems, 1999
    Co-Authors: Pornsiri Muenchaisri, Toshimi Minoura
    Abstract:

We designed and implemented a prototype software development environment based on software component composition. Our software development environment, the Entity-Relationship Software Development Environment (ERSDE), uses extended entity-relationship diagrams (EERDs) as templates of Executable Programs. An EERD represents the component types and the relationship types among them within an application domain. The graphical editor of the ERSDE uses an EERD as a menu in constructing application software. An EERD used as a menu can enforce legitimate patterns of relationships among software components, in addition to providing an intuitive view of available components and possible relationships among them. Furthermore, as the ERSDE uses structural active objects as the components of a Program, we can obtain an Executable Program if those components are instantiated and interconnected as dictated by an EERD. Two experiments conducted confirmed the effectiveness of our approach.

  • software composition with extended entity relationship diagrams
COOTS'96 Proceedings of the 2nd conference on USENIX Conference on Object-Oriented Technologies (COOTS) - Volume 2, 1996
    Co-Authors: Pornsiri Muenchaisri, Toshimi Minoura
    Abstract:

We introduce a compositional approach to application software construction. In our approach, an extended entity-relationship diagram (EERD), which represents the component types and the relationship types within an application domain, is used as a template of Executable Programs in that application domain. As we use structural active objects as the components of a Program, we can obtain an Executable Program simply by connecting them as dictated by an EERD. Furthermore, the graphical editor in the proposed software development environment uses EERDs as menus in constructing application software. An EERD used as a menu can enforce legitimate patterns of relationships among components, besides that they provide an intuitive view of available components and possible relationships among them.

  • Exception Handling-Based Dynamic Software Watermarking
    IEEE Access, 2018
Co-Authors: Yilong Wang, Daofu Gong, Fei Xiang, Fenlin Liu
    Abstract:

Existing algorithms experience difficulty resisting additive and subtractive attacks because the embedded watermarks are independent of the carrier Programs. A dynamic software watermarking algorithm based on exception handling is proposed in this paper. The algorithm considers the fact that exception handling, which is difficult to remove, commonly exists in the Programs to ensure the normal Program operation. First, an exception type table is constructed, and the binary watermark to be embedded is mapped to a sequence of exception types by scrambling encoding. Second, corresponding trigger conditions and exception handlers are constructed, and watermark embeddable points are acquired in execution paths under secret inputs. Finally, the code segment of the constructed trigger conditions and exception handlers are inserted into the Program with several meticulously designed identifiers. For watermark extraction, the triggered exception types can be obtained with the identifiers by executing the watermarked Executable Program under secret inputs. The mapping relationship between the exception type and watermark is utilized to decode the binary watermark. The algorithm analysis and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can embed a watermark in the source code and extract it in an Executable Program. The algorithm demonstrates good performance against additive and subtractive attacks.

  • Power Analysis for Executable Program on Single Computer Based on Artificial Neural Network
    Computer Science, 2012
    Co-Authors: Tan Yi-ming, Zeng Guosun
    Abstract:

Power management of application Program is a hot research in the area of green computing and high productivity computing.Because of the complexity of application Programs, heterogeneity of processors and uncertainty of the running environment,it is difficult to propose an accurate method to predict energy consumption for application Program directly. So we presented a power analysis paradigm for application Program based on artificial neural network.First,we built a power analysis model based on back propagation neural network(BPNN).The three factors of software, hardware and environment were taken as the inputs of BPNN,and energy consumption and finish time as the outputs of BPNN.Next,we chose lots of classic application Programs from different fields as training samples. After learning and training,an expected BPNN was obtained which can be used to predict energy consumption for other new Programs.Repeated experiments show that this power analysis paradigm is rational and feasible.
