Identification of Ganoderma lucidum Spore Powder and Ganoderma lucidum Powder Based on Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Cluster Analysis
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Co-Authors: Li Ya Xia, Pei Yun Chen, Yan Ping PangAbstract:In order to identify the Ganoderma lucidum spore powder and Ganoderma lucidum powder, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy of samples were collected by the Fourier near-infrared spectrometer. The spectroscopy was pretreated by vector normalization and then analyzed with chemometrics method. The data of near-infrared spectra in whole spectral region was analyzed by principal component analysis, then the first 5 scores was established cluster analysis model. The results show that this method can effectively identify Ganoderma lucidum spore powder and Ganoderma lucidum powder with the 100% accuracy rate. In conclusion, Ganoderma lucidum Spore Powder and Ganoderma lucidum Powder Based on Near-infrared Spectroscopy and Cluster Analysis.

Identification of the Content of Ganoderma lucidum Powder in Ganoderma lucidum Spore Powder Based on Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Partial Least Squares
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Co-Authors: Li Ya Xia, Pei Yun Chen, Yan Ping PangAbstract:In order to identify the content of Ganoderma lucidum powder in Ganoderma lucidum spore powder, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy of samples were collected by the Fourier near-infrared spectrometer. The spectroscopy was pretreated by minimum and maximum normalization and then analyzed with partial least squares (PLS) method. The spectral at 6110 cm-1 to 4598 cm-1 was establish PLS model with factors number 10. The result show that the squared correlation coefficient R2 between predicted value and true value is 99.99%, and RMSECV is 0.382. In conclusion, Ganoderma lucidum spore powder and Ganoderma lucidum powder can be identified accurately and quickly based on near-infrared spectroscopy and PLS.

Ganoderma lucidum(Reishi) in Cancer Treatment
Integrative cancer therapies, 2003Co-Authors: Daniel SlivaAbstract:The popular edible mushroom Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi) has been widely used for the general promotion of health and longevity in Asian countries. The dried powder of Ganoderma lucidum was popular as a cancer chemotherapy agent in ancient China. The authors recently demonstrated that Ganoderma lucidum inhibits constitutively active transcription factors nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) and AP-1, which resulted in the inhibition of expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and its receptor uPAR. Ganoderma lucidum also suppressed cell adhesion and cell migration of highly invasive breast and prostate cancer cells, suggesting its potency to reduce tumor invasiveness. Thus, Ganoderma lucidum clearly demonstrates anticancer activity in experiments with cancer cells and has possible therapeutic potential as a dietary supplement for an alternative therapy for breast and prostate cancer. However, because of the availability of Ganoderma lucidum from different sources, it is advisable to test its biologic activity.

cytotoxic triterpenoids from Ganoderma lucidum
Phytochemistry, 2010Co-Authors: Chunru Cheng, Qingxi Yue, Xiaoyi Song, Sijia Tao, Xuan Liu, Shuhong Guan, Dean GuoAbstract:A systematic study of the metabolites in Ganoderma lucidum led to isolation of 43 triterpenoids, six of them (1-6) are hitherto unknown. The structures of the latter were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic studies and comparison with the known related compounds. All of the compounds were assayed for their inhibitory activities against human HeLa cervical cancer cell lines. Some compounds exhibit significant cytotoxicity, and their structure-activity relationships are discussed.
