  • An Analysis Nomoto Gain and Norbin Parameter on Ship Turning Maneuver by Fuzzy Logic Control
    2020
    Co-Authors: Aulia Siti Aisjah
    Abstract:

First order approach of maneuvering Ship model developed by Nomoto, that has commonly underpinned researchers on mathematical models of Ship maneuvering, is employed by the present research in order to describe the results of Nomoto validation gain v alue from some type of Ships. In this present study, the cont rols are designated using FLC, while the rules are derived fr om FLC; furthermore, the reference is the LQG/LTR. On the other pole, Norbin parameters are obtained under the bases of the gain and time constant output control response. Validation of Nomoto gain value is obtained through the calculation of the value of a constant gain, settli ng time of the first order response, and approach value toward damping ratio and natural frequency response of the system used to control the output of the second ord er pattern. Validation is employed on 20 types of Ship s with a length between 40-350 meters; as a result, it is f igured out that at the Low Speed General Cargo Ship, Mariner, RO/RO, and Barge Carrier have good maneuverability compared to the other 17 types of Ships.

  • ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN PEMASANGAN ZINK ANODE UNTUK MENCEGAH KOROSI PADA LAMBUNG KAPAL KAPAL General Cargo
    2018
Co-Authors: Bambang Sudjasta, Purwo Joko Suranto, Hernia Setiani
    Abstract:

Needs installation of cathodic protection to prevent corrosion of the Ship in the sea water medium is a must so that the Ships can be used as long as possible, but the effectiveness is very limited lifespan sacrificial anode that time should be right on time. For the replacement timing becomes important to do, hull plate is first exposed areas of sea water. In this area of the hull bottom water or top area of water exposed to corrosion range. Corrosion of hull plates can lead to decline in strength and service life of Ships, reducing the Ship's speed and reduce safety and security of Cargo and passengers. From the calculation of the aluminum anode needs indicated that there is a difference between the life of the anode replacement is supposed to 5.25 years. The number of victims aluminum anode required to Ship the object of the research is based on the calculation is 12 pieces (± 44.2 kg), lower than the number of anode installed in the field about 24 pieces (108 Kg). So the amount of victims aluminum anode mounted on General Cargo Ship in the field is redundant with past-year use of 5.25 while the turn is done for 3 years. For the owners of the Ship, you should use zinc or magnesium anode victim since both of these materials have an efficiency of 95 % compared to aluminum, is only 50 %.

  • SeaShips: A Large-Scale Precisely Annotated Dataset for Ship Detection
    IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2018
Co-Authors: Zhenfeng Shao, Wenjing Wu, Zhongyuan Wang, Wan Du, Chengyuan Li
    Abstract:

In this paper, we introduce a new large-scale dataset of Ships, called SeaShips, which is designed for training and evaluating Ship object detection algorithms. The dataset currently consists of 31 455 images and covers six common Ship types (ore carrier, bulk Cargo carrier, General Cargo Ship, container Ship, fishing boat, and passenger Ship). All of the images are from about 10 080 real-world video segments, which are acquired by the monitoring cameras in a deployed coastline video surveillance system. They are carefully selected to mostly cover all possible imaging variations, for example, different scales, hull parts, illumination, viewpoints, backgrounds, and occlusions. All images are annotated with Ship-type labels and high-precision bounding boxes. Based on the SeaShips dataset, we present the performance of three detectors as a baseline to do the following: 1) elementarily summarize the difficulties of the dataset for Ship detection; 2) show detection results for researchers using the dataset; and 3) make a comparison to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the baseline algorithms. In practice, the SeaShips dataset would hopefully advance research and applications on Ship detection.

  • Global Fleet Station: Station Ship Concept
    2008
    Co-Authors: Simon Howard
    Abstract:

Abstract : The Global Fleet Station concept is proposed to act as a persistent Sea Base of operations from which to coordinate and employ adaptive force packages within a region of interest. These can primarily be broken down into two types of missions; training and support and humanitarian aid. In support of the Military Effectiveness Group at NSWC-CD, the Center for Innovation in Ship Design developed the Global Fleet Station Station Ship concept design. The design is based on a General Cargo Ship built to merchant Shipping standards and Classification Society rules. The General Cargo Ship design was modified to include a well deck, helicopter landing pad and hangar. The design is a 6,405mt Ship, with a length of 140m, beam of 17.38m and a draft of 4.5m allowing close to shore operations. The Ship has two large holds with removable hatches serviced by two cranes located on the Ship's port side. The Cargo load out is flexible; the holds can accommodate a wide range of dry Cargo, containers, vehicles or a combination. The vessel has been designed to have a permanent complement of 95 personnel with space for an additional 82 personnel in austere reconfigurable accommodation. The propulsion system is fully electric with an installed power of 7.8MW generated by two diesel generators. The prime movers are four ABB compact azimuthing podded propulsors. The Ship has limited command and control facilities to reduce cost and reflect the limited requirements of the GFS concept. This report concludes that the GFS Station Ship design is highly versatile and has demonstrated the effectiveness of a 6,405mt monohull in completing representative GFS missions.
