  • a solar energy storage and power Generation System based on supercritical carbon dioxide
    Renewable Energy, 2014
Co-Authors: Jia Liu, Haisheng Chen, Liang Wang, Chunqing Tan
    Abstract:

This paper proposes a new type of solar energy based power Generation System using supercritical carbon dioxide and heat storage. The power Generation cycle uses supercritical carbon dioxide as the working fluid and integrates the supercritical carbon dioxide cycle with an efficient high-temperature heat storage. The analysis shows that the new power Generation System has significantly higher solar energy conversion efficiency in comparison to the conventional water-based (steam) System. At the same time, the heat storage not only overcomes the intermittent nature of solar energy but also improves the overall System efficiency. The study further reveals that the high temperatures and high pressures are favorable for solar energy storage and power Generation. Moreover the expander and the heat storage/regenerator are found to be the key components that determine the overall System performance.

  • simulation and control strategy of a micro turbine Generation System for grid connected and islanding operations
    Energy Procedia, 2011
    Co-Authors: Xian Guo, He Guo
    Abstract:

Abstract The paper adopts the method of modularized modeling, creating an electro-mechanic simulation model for a Microturbine Generation System (MTGS), including the micro-turbine engine, permanent magnetic synchronous generator, rectifier and inverter. In this paper, control strategy for grid-connected and islanding operations of a micro-turbine Generation System is researched, the former adopts output voltage control strategy to maintain the output voltage of the load, and the latter adopts a dual closed-loop control algorithm based on PQ decoupling. A new control strategy to regulate the output power of MTGS based on the combination of decoupled control of output voltage and hysteresis current control is also introduced. Simulations have been done, and result proves the feasibility of the strategy.

  • architecture of a narrative Generation System based on a trpg model the use of an integrated narrative Generation System for knowledge acquisition preliminary version
Bulletin of Networking Computing Systems and Software, 2016
    Co-Authors: Jumpei Ono, Takashi Ogata
    Abstract:

In this paper, we present a plan of a narrative Generation System based on a scenario Generation method in Tabletop Role Playing Game (TRPG). This System is an application of an integrated narrative Generation System (INGS) and has two objectives. The first objective is to support the development of a narrative by using the interactions between a user and the System in order to use a game form. The second objective is the knowledge acquisition in the INGS. The INGS needs conceptual dictionary knowledge (noun concept, verb concept, and so on) for constructing an event concept that refers to an occurrence in the narrative, script knowledge for constituting the structure of the narrative, and interconversion knowledge between an event and its states. The conceptual dictionary is structured manually. However, we attempted to automatically acquire script knowledge and the knowledge about the characters, things, and locations in the narrative. In this study, we attempt to acquire knowledge about the narrative structure. We intend to implement a function to perform the knowledge acquisition for the INGS when a user playing a game. As the first step, we focus on acquiring script knowledge for constituting the structure of the narrative.

  • building conceptual dictionaries for an integrated narrative Generation System
Journal of Robotics Networking and Artificial Life, 2015
    Co-Authors: Takashi Ogata
    Abstract:

Abstra ct Integrated Narrative Generation System (INGS) is a framework for integrating our previous researches on narrative Generation. INGS integrates various narrative Generation modules into an organic architecture. This paper presents a verb conceptual dictionary and a noun conceptual dictionary to be used in INGS. Each of the dictionaries has a conceptual hierarchy with single inheritance by is-a relations. A terminal concept in the verb conceptual dictionary describes one or more case frame(s), the constraints of the main elements and a sentence pattern. The basic description of each terminal concept in the noun conceptual dictionary associates the concept to the other noun concept. The purpose of the study is not developing general conceptual dictionaries, but building them as a mechanism in narrative Generation, especially in INGS. Actually, we have combined the two developed conceptual dictionaries with INGS. In this paper, we will present the basic mechanisms based on the cooperation of two types of conceptual dictionary through an implemented narrative Generation System, INGS.

  • a story Generation System based on propp theory as a mechanism in an integrated narrative Generation System
    International Conference on NLP, 2012
    Co-Authors: Shohei Imabuchi, Takashi Ogata
    Abstract:

We show the overall picture of Propp theory and the current state of System development. Specifically, we propose a story Generation mechanism based on a Propp-based story grammar and propose an entertainment System KOSERUBE as the application. We aim at the integration of Propp theory into a story Generation mechanism, another integration of Propp-based story Generation System into a framework of integrated narrative Generation System, and the pursuit of new types of contents with narrative Generation functions.

  • story Generation System based on propp theory as a mechanism in narrative Generation System
Digital Game and Intelligent Toy Enhanced Learning, 2012
    Co-Authors: Shohei Imabuchi, Takashi Ogata
    Abstract:

Propp's folktale theory is an origin and a foundation of narratology. We have been studying story Generation System reorganized Propp theory to make story grammar. Story or narrative Generation System can become a strong mechanism for introducing dynamical and flexible feature into computer game and digital entertainment. This paper proposes a renewal version of Propp based story Generation System. The difference from previous versions is to use comparatively large scale conceptual dictionary for verb and noun concepts.

  • Macro structure and basic methods in the integrated narrative Generation System by introducing narratological knowledge
2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing, 2012
    Co-Authors: Taisuke Akimoto, Takashi Ogata
    Abstract:

This paper proposes the comprehensive architecture of an integrated narrative Generation System to discuss main two methods which are the foundations for integrating a variety of modules or elements and show a preliminary version utilizing our existing programs directly for seeing the picture of the integrated System. After we propose the macro structure of the proposed integrated System, we describe two fundamental methods to generate narrative structures and controlling the execution. And we show a pilot or preliminary version for the System developed by a kind of “bricolage” of existing programs corresponding to each module in the narrative Generation process. Last, we discuss some issues for building the next version of the integrated narrative Generation System. Moreover, this architecture is also differentiated from other many Systems and approaches in the interdisciplinary concept of AI and narratology.
