Morphology and Morphometry of Female Genital System of Mizo Local Pig (Zovawk)

AhmedAbstract:The present investigation provides a baseline data on gross anatomy of female reproductive System of Mizo local pig (Zovawk). The organs can be divided functionally and morphologically into the ovaries, and the tubular organs, which lead from the ovaries through the pelvis to the outside. The tubular organs consist of the uterine tubes, the uterus, and the copulatory organ. The copulatory organ is subdivided into vagina, vestibule and the vulva. The uterus is apparently U-shaped and the diverging horns were long, flexuous and almost reach the caudal extremities of the ovaries. The mesovarium was long. The mesosalpinx was highly vascular, arises from the lateral surface of the mesovarium and the adjacent part of the mesometrium. It contained the uterine tube and formed a large cone-shaped ovarian bursa which concealed the ovary. The mesometrium was attached dorso-laterally to the uterine horns and corpus uteri, originating from the dorso-lateral walls of the abdominal and pelvic peritoneal cavity. The cervix uteri were not covered by peritoneum. The overall biometrical value in respect of organs of female Genital System in the present study was lower than the common large breed of pigs. ultrasound diagnosis and clinicopathological traits of female Genital System malignant lymphomas
Medicine, 2020Co-Authors: Hong LuoAbstract:This study investigated the clinicopathological traits and ultrasound features (including 2-dimensional and color Doppler ultrasound) of female Genital System malignant lymphomas and explored the diagnostic performance of ultrasonography in this disease.Cases of female pelvic lymphoma diagnosed and treated at our hospital between July 2009 and July 2019 were included in this study. Pathological data and ultrasonic manifestations were assessed retrospectively to summarize the clinical traits and ultrasonic features of female Genital System lymphoma (FGSL). Based on the results, recommendations for ultrasonography-based diagnosis of this disease are proposed.During the 10-year study period, 20 female patients were diagnosed with malignant lymphomas in the pelvic cavity based on postoperative pathology tests. The age of the patients ranged from 11 to 83 years, and no patients demonstrated specific clinical traits; however, examination of tumor biomarkers revealed that certain patients had elevated levels of CA125. Twenty-eight lesions were identified in the 20 patients, including 24 involving the reproductive System. The primary ultrasonic manifestations were hypoechoic or extremely hypoechoic solid lesions that were relatively large in size, had a relatively regular shape, and had clear boundaries. Certain patients had concurrent ascites, and although some lesions lacked blood supply, most lesions had medium to abundant blood flow, which was largely characterized by low resistance. Almost none of the lesions were definitively diagnosed preoperatively.Diagnosing malignant lymphomas in the female Genital tract remains a considerable clinical challenge. Although certain clinical traits and ultrasonic features are associated with this disease and color Doppler ultrasonography might provide vital information indicating the presence of lymphoma, the final diagnosis depends on the clinical and pathological test results of the patients.

Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2018Co-Authors: Jin Wang, Hong Luo, Qingyun SongAbstract:Objective To explore the ultrasonic manifestations of primary female Genital System lymphoma (PFGSL), and to provide guidance for the ultrasonic diagnosis of this disease. Methods A total of 15 patients with PFGSL who underwent surgical treatment in West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University from September 1, 2008 to July 31, 2016 and were finally diagnosed as PFGSL by postoperative histopathological examination were selected as the study subjects by retrospective analysis method. All the 15 patients received preoperative ultrasound examinations. The clinical manifestations, preoperative ultrasonography results and postoperative histopathological examination results of those 15 patients were analyzed. The count data, such as proportions of different types of lesions were expressed by rate (%). This study was in line with the requirements of the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki revised in 2013. Results The analysis results of those 15 patients were as follows. ①Clinical manifestations: the main clinical manifestations of 10 cases of patients with primary ovarian lymphoma were pelvic mass or ascites. Three cases of patients with primary cervical lymphoma and one case of primary endometrial lymphoma were mainly characterized by irregular vaginal bleeding. One case of patient with primary vaginal lymphoma was mainly characterized by perineal discomfort and irregular vaginal bleeding. ②Preoperative ultrasonography results: one patient with primary vaginal lymphoma failed to find space-occupying lesions, and the other 14 patients all found lesions. A total of 20 lesions were detected, including 16 lesions, 3 lesions and 1 lesion in patients with primary ovarian, cervical and endometrial lymphoma, respectively. Ultrasound examinations of patients with primary ovarian lymphoma showed peritoneal thickening and metastatic nodules. And the features of ultrasound sonogram of metastatic nodules and primary tumors were close, all of which were solid weak echoes with abundant blood flow signals. And 62.5% (10/16) lesions in patients with primary ovarian lymphoma had cystic changes, and their blood flow signals were sparser compared to solid lesions. Ultrasound examination of patients with primary cervical and endometrial lymphoma showed slightly weak echoes in the uterus with relatively abundant blood flow signals. ③Postoperative histopathological examination results: all those 15 subjects were finally diagnosed as PFGSL, belonging to non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), including 13 cases of B-cell NHL and 2 cases of T-cell NHL (all of them were primary ovarian lymphoma). ④Surgical results: 21 lesions were removed, of which 57.1% (12/21) were gray white and fishy solid masses, and 42.9% (9/21) lesions were associated with cystic changes. Conclusions The clinical and ultrasonic manifestations of PFGSL are related to the invasion site of PFGSL, and B-cell-derived tumors account for the majority of PFGSL. The ultrasound images of PFGSL have certain characteristics and may provide a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
