Case A 59-year-old female was incidentally noted to have a 1-cm sized lump in her left labium majus that subsequently increased in size to approximately 4 cm. The mass was totally excised under general anesthesia. Her postoperative follow-up was uneventful. Histologic examination of the Tumor showed sheets and clusters of infiltrating Tumor cells with morphologic features consistent with granular cell Tumor. Conclusion Although benign and slow growing, it has a tendency for recurrence and can cause morbidity and mortality when presenting with multicentric or multiple organ involvement due to the lack of effective systemic therapy. Therefore, clinicians and pathologists should be aware of its clinical and histopathologic features.

We attempted to identify the guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-binding protein (G protein) subtypes linked to GnRH receptor in the Genital Tract Tumor membranes. Surgically removed ovarian carcinomas and uterine leiomyosarcomas were screened for GnRH receptor expression before plasma membrane isolation. The G alpha i was detected by immunoblotting of membrane exTracts with specific antibody and pertussis toxincatalyzed ADP-ribosylation from nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. Membrane phosphotyrosine phosphatase activity was determined as a GnRH-sensitive membrane event using synthetic substrate p-nitrophenyl in a spectrophotometric assay. Pertussis toxin, but not cholera toxin, brought about ADP-ribosylation of an immunodetected G alpha i of 41 kDa in the GnRH receptor-positive Tumor membrane. Genital bleeding in premenarcheal children

Imai, S Horibe, Teruhiko TamayaAbstract:AbsTract Objective: The earlier occurrence of secondary sexual development and the advance in diagnostic techniques prompted us to review our recent experience with Genital bleeding in childhood. Method: We analyzed data for all patients aged less than 10 years who were referred to Gifu University School of Medicine-affiliated hospitals from 1984 through 1993. Results: From a total of 330 girls, 62 (approximately 20%) complained of Genital bleeding. The patients were distributed equally between 0 and 10 years of age. In 46 of 62 patients (74%), bleeding resulted from a local lesion of the vagina: 28 due to vulvovaginitis, six to urethral prolapse, six to trauma, three to foreign bodies and three to vaginal Tumors. Malignant vaginal Tumors were seen in two patients: sarcoma botryoides and endodermal sinus Tumor. Both were diagnosed by histopathological examination of an exophytic vaginal Tumor, with several weeks' interval from the initial episode of bleeding to diagnosis. The remaining 16 patients (26%), with no demonstrable local lesions, bled as a result of some form of precocious puberty. In six patients, precocious puberty was secondary to a hormonally active ovarian Tumor, five of these patients also experiencing advanced breast development. Routine ultrasound and hormonal evaluations promptly detected the presence of Tumor. None of three patients with idiopathic precocious puberty presented with secondary sexual development. No specific etiology was established in seven patients. Conclusion: Genital bleeding alerts us to the possibility, though rare, of a Genital Tract Tumor. Prompt and precise detection may lead to cure and preservation of future fertility.

Gynecologic Tumors and symptoms in childhood and adolescence; 10-years' experience

Furui, Teruhiko TamayaAbstract:AbsTract OBJECTIVES: The advancement of diagnostic imaging evaluations and the earlier occurrence of secondary sexual development prompted us to review our recent experience with Genital Tract Tumors in children. METHODS: We analyzed data for 1938 patients aged less than 18 years who were referred to Gifu University School of Medicine-affiliated Hospitals for the years 1984 through 1993. RESULTS: Of the patients, 145 underwent surgical treatment. Vaginal Tumor was seen in 5 patients; 1 endodermal sinus Tumor, 1 sarcoma botryoides and 3 Gartner's duct cysts. Two patients with malignant Tumor presented only with bloody vaginal discharge; recurrent abdominal pain due to vaginal obstruction was noted in 1 patient with the cyst. Ten had benign Tumors in the vulva, presenting with a Genital mass. Of 114 ovarian Tumors, 3 were diagnosed by antenatal ultrasonographic examinations. Fifty-five had germ cell Tumors, 33 had epithelial Tumors, and 18 had stromal Tumors. The most common symptom was abdominal pain and approximately one-third of girls who complained of abdominal pain had an ovarian Tumor. Precocious puberty was noted in 4 girls with stromal Tumor. Two of the 23 malignant Tumors developed in the vagina and the others originated in the ovary. In 19 patients unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy or local excision was done in an attempt for reproductive organ conservation; 4 cases of advanced stage disease were treated with hysterectomy and/or bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Only 3 of the 23 patients with malignant Tumor died within 4 years and others are free from disease. CONCLUSIONS: Genital symptoms, even common, alert us to the posibility of a Genital Tract Tumor. The prompt and precise detection of either benign or malignant Tumors in children may lead to cure and preservation of fertility with conservative surgery.

Advance in diagnosis of female Genital Tract Tumor with laser fluorescence
1997 Shanghai International Conference on Laser Medicine and Surgery, 1998Co-Authors: Ai-hua Ding, Quen Tseng, Shao-hui LianAbstract:In order to improve the diagnostic accuracy of malignant Tumors with laser fluorescence, in 1996, our group successfully created the computerized laser fluorescence spectrograph type II with more reliable images shown overshadowing the naked eye method before 74 cases of female Genital Tract diseases had been examined by the LFS II resulting in 10 positive cases which were also proven pathologically as malignant Tumors, without nay false negative, 3 cases presented suspicious positive but all were proven pathologically as non-Tumors lesions, the false positive rate was 4 percent. Analyzing the differences between the cytological and histological methods in the vulva malignant neoplasm diagnosis

Unfortunately, the final diagnosis is often made in the late stage despite the available visualization methods. It indicates the need to improve the early diagnosis methods. The aim of the study was to improve the efficiency of the cytological diagnosis of vulvar cancer and pre-cancerous lesions by comparing the cytological and histological findings and diagnoses and analyzing the differences. Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of the biopsies, smears, and scrapings of 82 patients from 2014 to 2019 was carried out. Results. We found that true positive conclusions were given in 75% of cases, false negative – in 25% (17 cases). False positive results (overdiagnosis) occurred in 3.6% of all cases compared. The sensitivity of the cytological method was 76.4%, its specificity – 70%. We discussed the possible causes of incorrect cytology conclusions. Conclusion. A retrospective analysis of the discrepancy between the cytological and the histological diag-noses allowed us to identify the microscopic features that resulted into incorrect conclusions and, thus, to increase the reliability of the cytological diagnosis Keywords: vulvar cancer, neoplasia, melanoma, Paget’s disease, vulvar cytology
