  • Seasonal performance rating of Heat Pump water Heaters
    Solar Energy, 2004
    Co-Authors: G L Morrison, T. Anderson, Masud Behnia
    Abstract:

Seasonal performance evaluation methods for water Heaters are reviewed and an experimental method for rating air-source Heat Pump water Heaters is presented. The rating method is based on measured Heat Pump performance during Heat-up operation of particular products rather than a generic simulation model of Heat Pump performance. The measured performance is used in a correlation model of the Heat Pump unit in an annual load-cycle system performance simulation based on the TRNSYS simulation package. © 2003 Elsevier Ltd. • Heat Pump assisted drying of agricultural produce—an overview
Journal of Food Science and Technology, 2012
Co-Authors: Krishna Kumar Patel, Abhijit Kar
    Abstract:

This review paper included the recent progress made in Heat Pump assisted drying, its principle, mechanism and efficiency, type and its application for drying of agricultural produce. Heat Pump assisted drying provides a controllable drying environment (temperature and humidity) for better products quality at low energy consumption. It has remarkable future prospects and revolutionaries ability. The Heat Pump system consists of an expansion valve, two Heat exchangers (evaporator and condenser), and a compressor, which are connected by using copper tubes. In this paper we also provided a review discussion on different type of Heat Pump assisted drying system ready for remarkable and commercial use in different type of food industries. Here we also have given some major advantage and disadvantage of Heat Pump assisted drying.

  • co2 Heat Pump systems
International Journal of Refrigeration-revue Internationale Du Froid, 2002
    Co-Authors: Petter Nekså
    Abstract:

After the CFCs and the HCFCs were deemed unfit as working fluids in refrigeration, air conditioning, and Heat Pump applications, there has been a renaissance for carbon dioxide technology. Heat Pumps is one of the application areas where theoretical and experimental investigations are now performed by an increasing number of research institutions and manufacturers. This paper gives an overview of some of the current activities in the CO2 Heat Pump field. Discussed are the important characteristics of the transcritical CO2 process applied to Heat Pumps, and also discussed are theoretical and experimental results from several Heat Pump applications. Provided that calculations and system designs are performed on the premises of the working fluid, and that test plants are constructed and operated to fully exploit the specific characteristics of both the fluid and the transcritical process, the results show that CO2 is an attractive alternative to the synthetic fluids. Competitive products may be launched in the near future.
