    Abstract:

    The strength of the senior traveler segment is the high purchasing power the length of stay in a destination, making this market segment increasingly important in present and future. Consequently, this research aims to establish a model of motivation and its relationship with the image of Bali as an international tourism destination, especially from the perspective of  senior  tourists.  This  research  employed  survey  method  and  utilized  a  combination  of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques. Factor analysis  condensed various  indicators  into several key indicators  to  form a  model  with  goodness  of  fit.  Indicators  representing  push  motivation  Variable  include the improvement of health/fitness and the drive to perform physical exercise. Indicators representing destination Identity Variable include the culture and nature of Bali. Indicators representing destination creation Variable include the service quality of travel agencies and service quality of travel guides. Indicators representing destination image Variable include the image of cultural uniqueness and holiday atmosphere of Bali. The survey in this study involved 400 respondents of senior tourists, exclusively only foreign nationals. Goodness of fit is affirmed on the results of the analysis  model, which answered the hypothesis that  push motivation and destination creation affect destination image.

  • Probabilistic recognition of human faces from video

    Abstract:

    Recognition of human faces using a gallery of still or video images and a probe set of videos is systematically investigated using a probabilistic framework. In still-to-video recognition, where the gallery consists of still images, a time series state space model is proposed to fuse temporal information in a probe video, which simultaneously characterizes the kinematics and Identity using a motion vector and an Identity Variable, respectively. The joint posterior distribution of the motion vector and the Identity Variable is estimated at each time instant and then propagated to the next time instant, Marginalization over the motion vector yields a robust estimate of the posterior distribution of the Identity Variable. A computationally efficient sequential importance sampling (SIS) algorithm is developed to estimate the posterior distribution. Empirical results demonstrate that, due to the propagation of the Identity Variable over time, a degeneracy in posterior probability of the Identity Variable is achieved to give improved recognition. The gallery is generalized to videos in order to realize video-to-video recognition. An exemplar-based learning strategy is adopted to automatically select video representatives from the gallery, serving as mixture centers in an updated likelihood measure. The SIS algorithm is applied to approximate the posterior distribution of the motion vector, the Identity Variable, and the exemplar index, whose marginal distribution of the Identity Variable produces the recognition result. The model formulation is very general and it allows a variety of image representations and transformations. Experimental results using images/videos collected at UMD, NIST/USF, and CMU with pose/illumination variations illustrate the effectiveness of this approach for both still-to-video and video-to-video scenarios with appropriate model choices.

    This study is aimed to investigate the effect of image formation factor components such as physical Identity, non physical Identity, organitation management, product quality, activity and relations. Besides, it is also used to know which component has the biggest part in influencing the public opinion. Variable X1 is physical Identity, Variable X2 is non physical Identity, Variable X3 is organitation management, Variable X4 is product quality, Variable X5 is  activity and relations, and Variable Y is public opinion. Related literature used in this research is image formation and public opinion. This research belongs to quantitative research with corelational description. Sample employed here is 100 people. In gathering the data, questionnaire is used and the result is counted by using likert scale. Moreover, to make the data valid, some tests are also used. They are validity test, reliability test, and classic assumption test that covers normality test and multicollinearity test. Furthermore, the data are analyzed by using double linier regression analysis.  From the results of data analysis and discussion it was found that together the Variables of physical Identity (X1), non physical Identity (X2), organitation management (X3), product quality (X4), activity and relations (X5) have a significant effect on public opinion (Y). The contribution of these five Variables amounted to 59.1%, the remaining approximately 40.9% influenced by other factors besides these five Variables. The existence of influence together, indicating that these five Variables is what determines the level of public opinion.

The existence of a good non physical Identity of tax payer perceives the success of Tulungagung Tax Office. Effect of 59.1% can be assumed that the image formation is high, this means that Tulungagung Tax Office’s image can be said to succeed or be accepted by the public.
