ISO/IEEE 11073 PHD adapter board for standardization of legacy healthcare device
Digest of Technical Papers - IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics, 2012Co-Authors: Chanyong Park, Joon-ho Lim, Soo Jun ParkAbstract:As transformed to aging society, many personal devices for healthcare have recently been developed. According to the increase of individual development of health devices, the ISO/IEEE 11073 PHD standard is established for gathering health measurement data. But many existing healthcare devices are not standardized. In this paper, we propose Implementation Model of standardization for legacy healthcare devices which do not follow 11073 PHD standard. We develop universal PHD Adapter (UPA) and UPA interface board for ISO/IEEE 11073 PHD standardization of legacy (non-PHD) device for home healthcare service. Using the system, legacy devices communicate with 11073 PHD manager by 11073 PHD standard protocols.

Analytical Implementation Model
Multiprocessor Systems on Chip, 2011Co-Authors: Torsten Kempf, Gerd Ascheid, Rainer LeupersAbstract:After a brief recapitulation of the motivation and the fundamental problem, the discussion turns to the analytical Implementation Model.

Abstract Simulation Implementation Model
Multiprocessor Systems on Chip, 2011Co-Authors: Torsten Kempf, Gerd Ascheid, Rainer LeupersAbstract:Leaving the domain of analytical-based design space exploration, the discussion now turns to the utilized abstract simulation. First an overview of the underlying technique along with its main components is given. The key element, the Virtual Processing Unit (VPU) technology, is presented in-depth. Finally, this chapter concludes with the introduction of the refinement flow from abstract simulation down to an Implementation Model based on Instruction Set Simulators (ISSs).

Implementation Model alternatives for IEC 61499 Function Block networks
2008 6th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics, 2008Co-Authors: G. Doukas, Kleanthis ThramboulidisAbstract:The function block (FB) is proposed by IEC 61499 as the basic construct for the development of reusable, interoperable, distributed control applications. The FB design-level construct is clearly described by the standard so various prototype development environments have been developed during last years. However, Implementation Model issues are not explicitly addressed and this is one of the main reasons for the fact that the FB Model has not been yet adopted by industry. In this paper, we describe Implementation Model alternatives with main focus on the mapping of the FB network constructs to the target execution environment RTOS tasks. Schedulability analysis techniques are also considered to provide a framework for the automatic synthesis of the Implementation Model. The objective is to guarantee the same standard set of execution semantics independent of the execution environment.

towards an Implementation Model for fb based reconfigurable distributed control applications
International Symposium on Object Component Service-Oriented Real-Time Distributed Computing, 2004Co-Authors: Kleanthis Thramboulidis, G. Doukas, A FrantzisAbstract:The function block (FB) has been defined by the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) as the basic construct for the development of reusable, interoperable, distributed control applications. Complete applications can be defined in the design level as networks of interconnected FBs. For these design Models to be automatically converted to Implementation ones, adopting the Model integrated computing paradigm, an appropriate Implementation meta-Model should be defined We describe two alternatives for the Implementation of FB design Models. The first one adopts the straightforward transformation of the FB design Model to a high level language (C+ +, Java) Implementation Model. The second approach utilizes UML-RT Models as an intermediate representation towards the final Implementation Model. Both approaches support the dynamic re-configuration of the control application and exploit our extensions to the IEC execution control chart notation, to improve the expressiveness of the design Model and the efficiency of the Implementation one
