  • the home market trade and Industrial Structure
    1997
    Co-Authors: Donald R Davis
    Abstract:

Does national market size matter for Industrial Structure? This has been suggested by theoretical work on "home market"effects, as in Krugman (1980, 1995). In this paper, I show that what previously was regarded as an assumption of convenience—transport costs only for the differentiated goods—matters a great deal. In a focal case in which differentiated and homogeneous goods have identical transport costs, the home market effect disappears. The paper discusses available evidence on the relative trade costs for differentiated and homogeneous goods. No compelling argument is found that market size will matter for Industrial Structure.

Does national market size matter for Industrial Structure? This has been suggested by theoretical work on 'home market' effects. In the present paper, the author shows that what previously was regarded as an assumption of convenience--transport costs only for the differentiated goods--matters a great deal. • Simulation Model and Application on Mutual Optimization of Water Utilization Structure and Industrial Structure in Inland River Basins
    Journal of Desert Research, 2006
    Co-Authors: Bao Chao, Fang Chuang-lin
    Abstract:

During the great development of west China, water utilization Structure and Industrial Structure are both irrational in inland river basins. And they do not fit in with each other.Shortage of water resources is serious. However, traditional water resources optimization focused on water resources but neglected Industrial Structure. It cannot resolve the present problems.Based on the analysis of interaction mechanism between water utilization Structure and Industrial Structure, simulation model on mutual optimization of water utilization Structure and Industrial Structure in inland river basins is constructed. This model takes System Dynamic Model as the major model, and Input-Output Model,Multiple Targets Decision Model,Grey System Model,Multiple Regression Analysis Method as the assistant models.Restricted by the total quantity of water resources, adjustment of Industrial Structure is taken as the start.By adjustment of Industrial Structure, water utilization Structure for production is optimized,so is water utilization Structure. After optimization of water utilization Structure, the total quantity of water utilization should not exceed the carrying capacity of water resources. If it does,Industrial Structure should be adjusted until it does not.Taking the Heihe River Basin(mainstream),which is one of the largest inland river basins in China,as a case, results show that this model can harmonize the relationship between the upper, middle and lower reaches of the whole river basin. It also can realize the sustainable development of the ecology-production-living system and the water utilization Structure-Industrial Structure system. This model supplies a new thought and method for the sustainable utilization of water resources in inland river basins.

  • On Study of Rural Industrial Structure Adjustment
Journal of Hunan Environment-biological Polytechnic, 2006
    Co-Authors: Yao Yang
    Abstract:

In this article, firstly the relative concepts about adjustment of rural Industrial Structure have been discussed.Secondly, the evaluative standard of rationalization and the effective factors of Industrial Structure alteration have been generalized and analyzed.

  • Quantitative Analysis of the Industrial Structure Evolution in Liaoning Province
    Technoeconomics & Management Research, 2011
    Co-Authors: Yu Ji-yuan
    Abstract:

There is closely related beewten Industrial Structure evolution and economic development, and the reasonable Industrial Structure can promote economy development and change the mode of economic growth in liaoning province. In this paper, firstly, the Industrial Structure evolution theory will be reviewed.Secondly,we will introduced the indices and methods of Industrial Structure evolution.Thirdly,we make a quantitative analysis of the Industrial Structure evolution in Liaoning Province.Lastly, the conclusion would bedrawn: overall, the proportion of the first and second industry continued to decline in Liaoning Province, and the proportion of the third industry is rising continuously.the Industrial Structure is optimizing, and the trend Industrial Structure transformation is reasonable. However, the regional competitiveness of the tertiary industry in Liaoning Province is weak,it shoule be developed.

  • Interaction between Water Resources and Industrial Structure Evolution
    Water Resources and Power, 2013
    Co-Authors: Yu Fuliang
    Abstract:

In order to analyze the general rule of interaction between water resources and Industrial Structure evolution, from the role of water resources in the economic production process perspective, the interaction between water resources and Industrial Structure evolution are discussed through the analysis of the role of water resources in the Industrial Structure evolution and the reaction of Industrial Structure evolution to the water resources utilization. The conclusion mainly includes four aspects: water resources work in different way in different stage of the Industrial Structure evolution;water shortage affects the Industrial Structure changing time;Industrial Structure evolution affects water consumption, water consumption Structure and water use efficiency;the relation between water resources and Industrial Structure evolution develops from low-level equilibrium relationship to senior equilibrium. Finally, taking Beijing city as a case study, the interaction between water resources and Industrial Structure evolution has not yet reached senior equilibrium stage.
